To say I was angry, was putting it nicely. I was fuming, furious, aggravated, all of those words combined could not have expressed the way I was feeling at this very moment. It was like no other, I know I almost always kept calm and didn't speak out of term. But today was just the worse.
Luke and I had officially known each other for four whole months, and tonight he planned on taking me on our first date together as an official couple. But, of course, Alexandra was in charge of schedules this week, knowing Luke had plans, and decided to arrange his shift for this afternoon.
"I'm really sorry babe but I have to work. How else am I supposed to pay to take you out and stuff?" He was tucking his white button up shirt into the waistband of his black plants and I frowned.
"We don't have to go out, we can watch movies and then take a bath or shower together like we usually do." I tried to reason but Luke just let out a long breath. He hadn't bothered styling his hair and instead, cute blonde curls hung down his forehead. I had also broke his razor by accident one day so he hasn't been able to shave, but the stubble growing on his face looked really nice.
"Luna, I have to. Please, we can just reschedule for another time, alright?" It wasn't rescheduling that bothered me. It was knowing that he had to work with Alexandra. Honestly, ever since that day in the bathroom, I had never really liked her, and knowing that she had a thing for Luke, just made me more upset.
"Fine, whatever." Luke put on his shoes as I sat on his bed, back against the head board as I crossed my arms over my chest and furrowed my eyebrows at the television. I could hear him sigh from his closet and he came towards me, placing a hand on either side of my body as he leaned closer to my face.
"Are you mad baby?" Luke rubbed his nose against mind and placed small, feather light kisses over my cheeks and forehead. He even got my eyes and nose before trying to get my lips but I moved my head away. "Luna," he dragged out my name before continuing with his kisses, "kiss me princess."
I gave in when he tried to kiss my lips again, feeling his lip ring against mine as I could also feel him smile.
"I'm still mad." I declared when he pulled away. He rolled his eyes playfully but smiled.
"I know baby girl, and I'll make it all up to you. Now give me another kiss before I go." I obliged, puckering my lips as he placed one more chaste kiss.
As he left, I sighed and laid on the bed, debating whether I should take a nap or not. But unwanted thoughts of Luke and Alexandra clouded my mind, like a disastrous hurricane. I wanted so badly to have my car, but I had let Luke take it to work since his schedule changed so abruptly and I felt bad if I made him take the bus. I focused my eyes on the television and watched the program for a little while.
Checking the time, I saw that only two hours had passed as another episode of some reality t.v show finished. I unlocked my phone, laying sideways with it from my original position on my back as I went through my messages, deciding who I could call or text to hang out with in the time being. My eyes landed on a specific name and I decided to call the contact.
"Luna?" Calum's voice said through the phone, answering after one ring.
"Hey Cal." I smiled, flipping on the bed as I laid on my stomach, holding the phone up to my ear and using my other hand to play with the frills on Luke's pillow.
"What's up? Aren't you supposed to be out with Luke right now?" I let out a long sigh and he laughed at my reaction. "Work?"
"Yep. Stupid Alexandra."
