I was finally introduced to this boy named Calum that I've been hearing about and now we were on our way to Ashton's in Calum's car. Calum drove a navy blue expedition with the windows up and the air conditioning turned on high, complaining how hot it was outside as we pulled into the driveway of a pink-ish house.

"I don't understand this dude, he is the most grumpiest human being if you wake him up but we have to do band practice! It's been over a week since I touched my bass and I miss her." Calum pouted as we walked the sidewalk to the front door. The boys' outfits were all pretty much the same except Luke was the only one in all black. Calum decided to change it up with a salmon shirt that had a band on it I didn't recognize and Michael wore an american flag shirt, apparently an oldie that he had.

"I hate that he couldn't pick us up from Lola's house!" Michael was still complaining and wiping sweat off his forehead. After three knocks and a door bell ring, a little girl, much older than Zoe, opened the door.

"Hey Lauren." Luke said from beside me with a dimpled smile. "Where's Ashton?"

"The monster is in his dungeon." My eyes widened at the young girl's wording but Luke put his hand on my shoulder and squeezed softly.

"She means he's in the basement." He whispered before we entered. I took a deep breath and smiled, following the teenagers to a door near the kitchen.

"Afternoon mama Irwin!" Calum shouted into the kitchen before opening the door and revealing a set of stairs. Inaudible words were heard but we were already halfway down and Luke had closed the door behind us.

Upon entering the basement, we could hear drums. They weren't very good but not terrible either and when the two boys came into sight, we understood why.

"Already trying to corrupt Harry?" Michael asked with a smirk.

"Shut up Clifford, he's gonna be just like his older brother."

"Why is everyone telling me to shut up?" Michael started to fake cry and stomp away to a stand of guitars, picking up the one I assumed to be his.

"'Cause you're really annoying." Harry muttered, Calum going 'oooh!' and Luke laughing hysterically. I held in my own snickering as Michael eyed the little fellow before Ashton made him go upstairs to do his homework.

"Who's this?" Ashton asked, eyeing me suspiciously. I felt the palms of my hands start to sweat and my heart felt like it was beating a mile a minute but Luke came in for the rescue like always.

"She's with me. Like, not with me, but she's just a friend and she's uh-"

"She just came back from going to school in Melbourne but she's got family problems and she's staying at Luke's house for the time being. They knew each other in primary." Michael finished it. I looked at him, bewildered and confused. How did he know that Luke's story was made up? I mean, it was probably obvious with Luke stuttering and fidgeting with his lip piercing. I made a mental note to talk to him later.

"Yeah, that. I'm Luna." I held my hand out to Ashton and he shakes his head with a smile.

"A friend of Luke's is a friend of mine, bring it in!" Instead of shaking my hand, he grabbed it and pulled me into an awkward hug that consisted of his arms around my waist and my arms and head burried into his chest.

"Thank you for being nice but I can't breathe." The words sounded strained as they came out of my mouth but Ashton let go in a matter of seconds.

"Sorry, it's not usual that we bring girls into practice. Take a seat, pick up an instrument, make yourself at home." Ashton's words tumbled out nervously but his adorable giggle at the end made it worth it.

There was a small stage built in the basement with x's marked with tape on it. The drum set was there, all shiny and pretty, as Ashton got behind it and took a seat. He was wearing a plain grey shirt with a pair of gym shorts, no socks or shoes. Luke and Calum grabbed a guitar after Michael and went to their spots. I sat on a sofa that was right across the stage and played with a drum stick.

"What song are we doing first?" Michael looked behind Luke at Calum and Luke turned around to face Ashton.

"Let Luna choose?" Calum offered, bringing up a paper to me with lots of titles on it. "Just pick one, I promise we're not that bad." He smiled at me and earned a smile in return as I looked over the songs.

But I didn't know how to read. God, for being a doll I felt like such a mistake and waste of time.

So I got up and walked to Luke, pointing at a song on the page with a small smile. He understood and I don't think I could have been anymore grateful. Honestly, I didn't know how I could even talk.

"She wants Beside You." He announced and the boys all smiled. "It's an old one but one of my favourites."

So I returned to my position and watched as they got set up, Ashton counting up to 4 before they started strumming away.

"She sleeps alone. My heart wants to come home. I wish I was, I wish I was beside you. She lies awake. I'm trying to find the words to say. I wish I was, I wish I was beside you." After a few more minutes, the song came to an end and I applauded.

"I loved that! Very cool and I wish I could play all of those." I stood and clapped, looking at Luke's face as he reddened.

"Thank you Sydney! We love you!" Ashton shouted, making Michael and Calum laugh so hard, they had to put their instruments down.

"Oh! Announcement time." Luke put his guitar back on the stand before continuing. "For my birthday, Lola bought us tickets to Good Charlotte next friday!" Michael's mouth dropped and Ashton got up, tossing the drum sticks aside.

"No freaking way!" Calum hugged Michael and jumped up and down. "They haven't had a tour in three years!" Ashton squealed like a little girl, running up to Luke.

"We just have to carpool in your car and my mum cannot know about this or she's gonna want to go." I watched the boys celebrate before Calum turned to me.

"You're coming, right?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed as he reached out for me.

"According to Luke, yes." Calum grinned.

"Good. Wouldn't have been fun without ya." Ashton butted in. "This is so awesome, I love you guys so much."

Luke shook his head at his mates before turning to face me. "Feeling's mutual Ash."
