As mentioned, Luke and I had fell asleep together last night. And as not mentioned, we woke up to a very angry Liz at almost midnight.
"What the hell is going on here?" Now Luke had mentioned that his mum was not one to say those bad words so we knew she was royally pissed and he jumped out of the bed.
"Mum, I can explain. Really, all we did was sleep-"
"Liz, I can promise you that I know this behaviour is not acceptable but I swear on my life that Luke was having trouble sleeping and we fell asleep watching a movie together." I interuppted Luke, still under the covers as I looked up at Liz and her husband. "I'm very sorry, it won't happen again." I knew she was still very mad but she sighed, probably thinking that it was too late to be arguing with anybody.
"You're right, it won't happen again. Not under this roof or any other roof, do you understand young lady?" I nodded my head quickly. "Get some rest. In your own bed Luke." She sent him a glare and he ran out of the room.
So when we were both in the car, falling asleep in the back seat on our way to the carnival, it was no surprise how tired we were. We stayed as far away from each other in the back seat as we could, the only conversation we had was of whether the other boys would be there or not.
"We're here." Liza announced, parking onto a lawn that was pretty full. "Go start setting up the tent and take some of the tickets so you two can play some games or go on rides, alright?" Luke and I got out at the same time and walked towards the entrance, holding up our passes that let us get through the ticket booths.
"Well." Luke muttered, an awkward silence filling the air.
"Can it not be like this? It was an honest mistake and we did nothing bad, Liz will be fine in no time alright?" I tried to calm him and he smiled.
"I'm sorry Luna, you're right. As soon as we're done with this tent, we'll find Ashton and Calum." He dragged me to an open space next to a smoothie bar.
"Where's Michael?" I was kind of sad if he wouldn't be joining us today.
"He had to finally go home." Luke stifled a laugh, setting up the register as I fixed the shelves and put the merchandise on them neatly.
"Thank you so much, you guys can go now." Liz approached us with a box full of stuff, her husband trailing right behind her.
"Try not to have too much fun." He winked at Luke and I and I blushed madly.
"Do you want to share a piña colada smoothie?" Luke asked as we walked away from the stand. I nodded, not knowing what it was. But I stood in line with him and waited, feeling something cover my eyes. In a wave of panic, I spun around and smacked whatever was blinding my vision.
"Ow!" A voice squealed. My mouth dropped open as I saw Ashton covering his arm.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Ashton shook his head and let out a loud laugh, Calum right behind him snickering away.
"Aren't you hot with all your hair down like that?" Ashton questioned as Luke went up to order our drink. I looked at Ashton's hair that was tied up at the back of his head.
"Yeah a bit, I don't know much about hair to do anything to it." Ashton shook his head and grinned, holding up his wrist to show two black things.
"I've got you babe, turn around." And so I did, just as Luke came to us with our drink. He took a sip as Ashton did my hair and handed the cup to me.
"Taste it." Luke smiled and I did as told, putting the straw in my mouth. The taste was something to get used to but nonetheless, very good.
"I like it." I said with a grin as Ashton clapped his hands.
"Done!" Luke held up his phone to show me my hair and my eyes widened. There were two circles on my head, tied up like Ashton's hair.
"Nice buns." Calum commented, applauding Ashton as he marveled in the glory.
"How about some rides?" Luke held up the tickets and everyone smiled as we ran to the closest one.
This ride was called Twister. You sit with a large group of people in a line, 3 side to it, like a triangle. It swings you up to the left and up to the right, back and forth as it spins in the air. Terrifying, really. But I was beyond excited.
"I'm nervous." Ashton muttered. The order we sat in was Ashton at the end, me, Luke, and then Calum next to other randoms.
"So am I." I yelled back over the music. I turned to Luke who had the biggest smile on his face. "You're not scared?"
"Not at all. Are you?" I bit my lip and nodded as the floor beneath us disappeared. Luke's hand found mine and he intertwined our fingers, giving me a reassured squeeze. I smiled at him and then turned back to Ashton, doing the same thing.
"Thanks!" Ashton yelled as the machine started. We screamed, we cried, we slobbered, and we laughed. This ride has been the most exhilirating thing I have experienced since becoming a human and honestly, nothing made me more happy then being with these boys on this ride. Except maybe the fact that Luke was holding my hand.
Once the ride was over, we all composed ourselves, my legs wobbly. Luke held me by my arms to make sure I wouldn't fall over. When he was sure I was steady, he slipped his hand back into mine and we continued walking with the other two boys.
"Such a shame Mikey had to miss this." Ashton gazed at a water gun race game and his eyes bulged out of his head at the giant monkey they were giving away. "I'll be back in like, never." He ran to the booth and Calum sighed.
"Should I go after him?" He asked Luke, almost like he was asking himself, and he sighed. "I'll see you guys in a bit." Calum mumbled, walking away with his hands on his front pockets.
"Luke, we're going to that concert in two weeks, right?" I asked, Luke swinging our hands back and forth ever so slightly.
"Yeah, to see Good Charlotte, why?" He looked down at me with his blue eyes and I shrugged.
"Well I was hoping you'd show me more music. Maybe I could learn some to sing along." Luke's face lit up.
"Oh my god, it could take us days for me to introduce you to all my music. But we'll do it. I can be your music guru." I laughed at his excitement and we neared the petting zoos. "Wanna see a real monkey?"
"I've got mine right here."
