Chapter 53 ⚜ The Dinner Party

In Elijah's apartment, I wear a new outfit there was a knock on my room "Come in" I said

Elijah walks in smiling "You look incredible"

I smile at him "Thanks"

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah" I head to the door

Elijah is in front of me "I'm selfish..." he approaches me almost to kiss me.

"Why? what are you talking about?"

He stopping himself and sighs "Nothing" he smiles shaking his head. we look at each other "Shall we go"

I nod "Please"

In Salvatore's boarding house, Damon opens the door. It's Elijah and I are arm in arm. Elijah says "Good evening"

Damon smiles "Thank you for coming. Please, come in"

Elijah says "Just one moment. Can I just say that if you have anything less than honorable intentions about how this evening is going to proceed, I suggest you reconsider"

"No, nothing, nothing dishonorable. Just getting to know you"

Elijah looks at me "Hmm. Well, that's good. Because, you know, although Elena and I have this deal, if you so much as make a move to cross me, I'll kill you and I'll kill everyone in this house. Are we clear?"

Damon smirks "Crystal"

I hug Damon "Hey"

"You weren't in town the last few days"

"I was on a hunting trip long story"

Elijah sees Jenna smiles and rejoins her in the house "Jenna. Wonderful to see you again. How are you? Nice to see you. You look incredible"

Jenna smiles "Thank you"

I look at him raising my eyebrow

Damon comes close to my ear "Are you jealous?"

I ignore him and smile "How do I look, Damon"

Damon smirks "You look" he kisses my cheek "stunning"

I smile at him.

We are all sitting around the table for dinner, I sit between Elijah and Damon. Jenna says "I hate to break it to you, Damon, but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town"

Damon raises his eyebrow "Hmm, do tell"

Elijah says "Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years, they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution"

Jenna says "Hmm. Because they were witches"

Andie says "Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem"

Damon says "Andie's a journalist. Big on facts"

Elijah says "Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighboring settlement, so these witches were rounded up"
