I'm at the crescent moon mansion exploring the boat house. I hear the floorboard creaking behind me and quickly grab an oar and spin, ready to strike. It turns out to be Bobby "Oh, God!"

"Dad! What are you doing?"

Bobby hugs me for a long as we didn't see each other for months "What are you doing?"

I sigh "Nothing" I look around "And how did you know I was here? Did you follow me?"

"No, I'm getting ready for the open house tomorrow..."

"The open house, wait... I give you the money that Mom's cousin sends me, we can't sell my mansion"

"Okay, I followed you... Sarah, you come up here every weekend, sometimes even during the week. And, as far as I can tell, there's no boy involved, so I really have no clue what you're up to"

"First it's Lydia and I'm trying to figure something out... Something important. And honestly, Bobby, you don't need to be involved in every single detail of my life"

"No, Idijt but I'd like to help if I can"

I give up and show him the picture I found of Meredith "Do you know her?"

Bobby recognizes her, much to my surprise "Meredith Walker..." Bobby gets an urn down from a shelf and hands it to me "These are your grandmother's ashes..."

"Grandma died at Eichen House?"

Bobby sighs "I have a difficult relationship with my mother... But, after the things she said, and the way she acted..."

"You thought she was crazy."

Bobby nods "Well, she said she heard things."

"Why did she want her ashes in here?"

"Well, actually, she didn't. She left instructions to have them spread across the lake"

"How come you haven't done it?"

"Because she wanted you to do it... when you turned nineteen. Don't ask me why. But, since there's only a few weeks 'til that, I suppose now is as good a time as any."

I open the urn but discover that inside is mountain ash. I take a handful and throw it toward the water, but instead, it forms a line across the end of the dock, sealing the boat house "...Dad these aren't Grandma's ashes"

"What do you mean? Of course, they are"

"No..."

Bobby looks closely "It's mountain ash"

"The whole building-- it's all made of mountain ash"

"I do not understand " he gives me a note "This was the last thing your grandmother wrote down before she died. I don't even know why I kept it, because it's basically nonsense"

I open the note, and it's another cipher. I stare. "Are you absolutely sure Grandma's dead?"

Bobby looks at me "Yes. I mean, she has to be..."

"This isn't nonsense, Dad. It's code."

Stiles and I go into Sheriff Stilinski's office. Stiles says "It's not just that she could still be alive--"

I say "It's that she would've had to fake her death"

Noah asks "Your grandmother, Lorraine Singer, faked her death?"

Stiles says "Definitely"

I say "...Maybe."

"More than likely, yes"
