*Katie's POV.*
I wake up get dressed and go outside. I see Julia throwing a tennis ball at the invisible wall trying to get the military's attention.
"I don't think it's gonna work Julia." I say walking up to her. She throws it again but doesn't catch it. But someone else does.
"She's right," We look to see Barbie behind us. "I mean you could strip naked in front of these guys and it still won't do any good." He says. "I tried that an hour ago. They didn't even blink." Julia says. Barbie smirks I just roll my eyes.
"And what makes you think there under orders not to talk to us?" Julia asks. "Because there not talking to us." Barbie says. We both roll our eyes this time.
"Maybe they built this thing." Julia says. "And why would they do that?" Barbie asks.
"I don't know. Maybe it's some kind of experiment and maybe we're being used as guinea pigs. What ever it is these guys are the reason my husband is trapped out there!" She shouts throwing the ball again.
We see one of the guys on a phone. Julia dumps her coffee and get in her car. "Where are you going?" Barbie asks. "The radio station. They may not be talking to us but they're talking to somebody." "I'm gonna head to the Sweetbriar" I say and walk away.
When I get there I am immediately greeted by Norrie.
"Hey," I say. She looks shaken up. "What's wrong?" I ask. She pulls me inside and plays a pre-recorded broadcast. Except it's not Phil Bushey that comes over the radio, it's Julia.
"I have just learned that the barrier around Chester's Mill is being called a dome." She says.
"Did she say dome?" I ask Norrie nods looking scared. I get up and begin to walk out the door. "Hey, wait where are you going?" She asks. "I need to find someone. I'll be back later." I say. I need to find Joe. He was with me when this dime came down. He should know.
I see Joe and some other kid with a yellow hat. "Hey," I say. They both turn around. "Oh hey Katie," Joe says.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Ben Drake." He says holding his hand out. "Katie, Katie Hart." I say. Then I see the guys outside spraying water on the dome.
"What the hell?" Ben asks to no one in particular. "There doing tests. Must be trying to see if water can get through." I say.
Joe is about to place his hand on the dome. "Don't!" I say pulling his hand back. "Why?" He asks. "Do either off you have anything mechanical on you?" I ask.
"I got my cell phone," Ben says. "Then you should probably step back." I tell him. "Why?" Joe asks again. "Because if anything mechanical touches that dome it explodes." I inform them.
"And you know this how?" Ben asks. "Because sheriff Perkins touched the it and his pacemaker exploded right out of his chest. He's... he's dead." I say. They both look shocked and I can't blame them.
"sheriff Perkins is dead?" Ben asks. I just nod in response. "I was walking home and I heard Deputy Esquivel screaming for help, she was over top of Dukes body." I finish explaining.
"So, who's in charge if Dukes dead?" Joe asks. "My guess is Linda." I say.
"Well I don't have any electronics on me so I'm good," Joe says touching the dome where they are spraying.
When he removes it he has a little water on his hand.
"It's like a sieve," He says. "What the hell is a sieve?" Ben asks.
" A strainer, you douche. Like for pasta." Joe explains.
"So it does let water through?" Ben asks. "Well yeah, just a little." I say.
"Maybe we can get through. Aren't we like 70% water?" Ben says. I roll my eyes and laugh.
"It's the other 30% that's the problem genius." I say.
