*Katie's POV.*
We're all have a bonfire. It's just kind of to take our minds off everything that has happened since this dome came down.
I'm watching Ben do tricks on his skateboard. He's pretty good. "Nice moves Ben!" Another guy, Leo Jackson says. Leo is in my history class. I haven't really talked to him before now, because he is always sleeping in class.
"He was OK," I say. "What you think you could do better?" Ben asks me. I take his board. I completely nail every move and land perfectly. Both he and Leo's mouths hang open.
"Does that answer your question Benny?" I ask smirking. "OK I'll admit that was pretty good," he says. "Pretty good? Hart you were awesome!" Leo says loudly.
"Why thank you." I say taking a bow.
Ben and I then walk over to Joe. Who is watching to video of the fire on his phone. Again.
"Your still watching that?" I ask.
"Yeah, I still can't believe it." He says. "You weren't kidding about that Barbie guy. He took that cops ass down." Benny says. "I wonder if Barbie is like black ops or something," Joe says.
"Oh my god! Your phone still works?" Two girls a blonde and a brunette walk up to us. They look to be a year or two older. I recognize the brunette. Her name is Astrid. She lives like a block away from me.
"Yeah, all the app work. Just no texting or calling." Joe says."I miss texting." The blonde says.
"It's been like a day and a half." Ben says. "What ever don't be judgie," The blonde snaps.
Benny rolls his eyes. And I laugh. Wait, why do I find that funny?
Joe shows the girls the video and I zone out. Wow. I've been doing that a lot lately.
It's not until later that I notice Benny is staring at me. Why is he staring at me?
"Excuse me? Where can a girl charge up in this town?" I look up to see Norrie standing there. "Um, I have a generator at.." Joe trails off.
"Your house." Norrie finishes for him. "We saw you at the fire. How did you end up here?" Ben asks. "I just followed some kids. Heard them talking about a bonfire." She says. "No I mean how did you end up in Chesters Mill?" Ben clarifies. "I was headed some place and wrong place at the wrong time." She says making an dome shape with her hands.
"And without my music I can get a little you know, super bitchie," She says. "Can I refuel at your place?" She asks. "Sure." Joe says "I mean it's just me so-" "Cool." She says. "I actually need a place to crash." She says. I give a confused look. I thought she was with Carolyn and Alice.
"Oh, well I saw you with two ladies. I thought you were with them." Joe says. "Never seen them before." Norrie says. Now I know she is lying but I don't say anything. I'll just talk to her later about it.
"So, cool to crash?" She asks. Joe doesn't answerright away. But then I see Benny mouthing "Yes" to him. Joe nods. And they get up and begin to walk away.
"I'll catch you guys later." Joe says to me and Ben.
After a while I get bored of the bonfire and go home. "Hey wait up where you going?" Benny asks. "I think I'm just gonna head home." I say. "Well alright, I'll walk you." He says. "Oh no I'm OK. You don't have too." I say.
"No, it's alright. I want to. If you don't mind that is." He says.
"Sure," I say. And we head toward my house.
