*Katie's POV.*
I slowly open my eyes. My vision is blurry, but I can make out a figure with blonde hair and glasses. Then I relize who it is. "Alice?" I question, blinking until my vision goes back to normal.
"Hey, hey sweetie, how you feeling?" She asks. "I um, I'm good, just a small headache. Nothing too bad." I say. Wait a second. The last thing I remember was talking to Junior.
"Alice, where am I?" I ask. "Your at the clinic dear," She says. "You past out from a meningitis outbreak." She tells me. "Your lucky Junior Rennie brought you in when he did." She says.
"Oh," is all I can say. "How are Norrie and Joe?" "They seem fine so I don't understand why they are having seizures." She says. "And there is a young man by the name of Ben Drake, who has been asking to see you." She says. "Sure, send him in."
Benny walks in. "Hey," he says.
"Hey," I respond. "I'll leave you two alone." Alice says.
"H-How are you?" He asks. "Good. Just glad I ran into Junior when I did." I say. Then I remember what me and Junior were talking about. Barbie.
"Benny, have you seen Barbie?" I ask. "He left with Big Jim to get more medicine." He says. I try to stand up but Ben stops me.
"I need to go find Barbie." I say.
"Woah, clinic is under quarantine, you can leave." He says. "What? Who authorized that?" "Big Jim,"
"And since when do I listen to anything he says?" I say sitting up. "Well, you might want to considering the fact that he left his son in charge with a shot gun." He says. Oh great I think.
"You can't keep us here Rennie." I hear Ollie's voice from the lobby. I get up from the bed.
"Wait where are you going?" He asks. "To make sure Junior doesn't shoot anybody in the face." I say as we walk.
We get to the lobby, and sure enough there is Juni by the door with a shot gun. "You can't stop all of us with that gun." Ollie says stepping forward. Juni raises the gun at Ollie's head.
I try push my way through the crowd but Ben holds me back.
"Katie, this isn't a good idea." He says. I push him off.
"Let's go," Ollie says and a bunch of people try to get past. He shoots the ceiling and everyone ducks.
"Juni," I say. He looks at me. I shake my head telling him this is not the way to do it.
He puts the gun down and takes a deep breath.
"Look, I'm not in here to fight with you. Not to point a gun at you. But because I live here and I'm one of you." He says "And we have got to fight through this together. I believe in this town, I believe in my dad. And I believe in you." He says. I give a small smile and nod. He walks past everyone into the back room and I follow. "Back in a sec," I say to Ben.
"Wow," I say. "Nice job," I say.
"Well, we're not out of this yet." He says. "Juni, you just stopped what could have been a full blown riot." I say. "A man stands up." I say. "Your dad is going to be proud of you."
"Thanks," he says. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," I say. "Right before you past out, you said something about pink stars. What did you mean by that?" He asks. I want to tell him but I can't. Not yet.
"I don't know I was probably just hallucinating." I say. He doesn't look convinced. Just then Alice walks up to us.
"Have either of you seen Julia Shumway?" She asks. We both shake our heads. "Why is something wrong?" Juni asks.
"I went to check on her, she was in bed. No one has seen her in like an hour. She is missing." She says. I look at Juni.
"And here comes the screw up."
Juni says.
