James's P.O.V
Oh god, we are really about to do this. I don't blame Jai for being terrified. I'm just as afraid as he is. I couldn't help but feel my legs shake as we got up to leave. Luke played with his lip piercing, taking it between his lips and tugging it. I know he's concerned, not just about Jai and his mental state, but us too. Even if he won't admit to it. Beau wiped his hands on his pants and sighed. He was nervous too. Daniel just stood there staring at the wall in deep thought. His lips were pursed, almost like when he was "dreaming about sleeping" in The Slushie Challenge.
Beau took the keys out of his pocket and put them in the lock. He paused, his hand shaking slightly as he gripped the knob. "You guys ready?" We nodded and Jai hit himself on the chest and puffed it out, "Ready as I'll ever be!" Beau smiled softly and unlocked the door.
Every sound was amplified so much louder now that we were trying to sneak around. Beau looked around the cold, desolate highway, "We're good", he said, motioning us forward. We followed each other out and headed towards the stairs. I swear I felt my heart in my throat as we came closer to them. We traveled up, making sure no camera's were around.
Luke took the lead and peered out onto the third floor. He looked to the right and his whole body went taunt, "****in' hell, there's a guard!", we whispered loud enough for us to hear. I thought I was about to piss myself and Daniel clung tightly to the railing. "Skip, I swear you better not...", I said to myself.
"Hide! Press yourself against the walls! Quickly, make sure he can't see you!", Luke hissed. Thank god the hallways weren't incredibly well lit. We seemed to blend into the walls as the guard passed the stairwell. Then Beau sneezed. "You ****in' ****, you trying to get us killed?!", Luke whispered/ shouted at Beau. There were footsteps coming our way.
Jai's P.O.V
****! "God Dammit Beau!", I growled at my older brother. "I'm sorry!", he mouthed back. "Stupid ****...", I thought to myself. The footsteps grew closer and louder. I felt this blind rage coming over me. This was so unlike me. I was sick of being here , tired of feeling hopeless, and worst of all, watching my group suffer. Not anymore.
"Jai... you good", James asked concerned but it was too late. The guard stood in the doorway and the second I saw him standing there, I saw red and I attacked. I put him in a headlock as he struggled to get out. I felt this adrenaline pump through me. I kicked his legs out and we hit the floor, he, still in a choke hold. The boys were shouting things but I couldn't hear anything. The guard turned purple as I tightened my grip. He went limp in a matter of a minute. I looked down at him after releasing him. He was still breathing.
I looked up at the boys who mouths were hanging open. They just stood there, gawking at me in disbelief. I caught my breath and put my hands on my hips. "That should do for now", I said straightening myself out. "Now let's go take care of business", I said proudly and did my little sloth smile. I headed towards the "Staff Room", the boys at my heels.
