he hit cleo because of ME? my heart feels like it's about to explode and kill me. philip was right, this is too much for me. i feel like i'm about to break open at the seams from james and alex.
"per, i told him that i needed to go see you. he started screaming that we had to go to this lame party. i calmly told him there had been accident and that i had to get to the hospital," she takes a pause and wipes at her eyes.
"after that he s-said... that he didn't believe me and that I just didn't want to go and that I only wanted to see you because I'm a filthy dyke," cleo breaks down and starts bawling. her hair sticks to her wet face and snot runs down her nose, but she doesn't try to stop it. she tries to speak again through the sobs,
"h-h-he th-e-n-"
"no you don't have to tell anymore. we understand," jack surprisingly says. he hands her a crumpled up napkin from his pocket and wraps her in a hug.
haru slurs, "he's an a-s-s- uh hole and you're better off without him." philip raises his glass in agreement. i don't know what to say. could this all be my fault just like alex's death? bile rushes to my throat, but i swallow it. No, i HAVE to be strong for cleo.
"if ellie makes you happy, then stupid bigots like james can go fuck themselves. i can't really tell you to move past it because, well, look at me, but we can both try." cleo smiles and reaches over to squeeze my hand. jack gives her a quick kiss on the top of the head. right then the door opens.
"jack! what the hell is going on here?"
"lili! no wait! it's not what it looks like."
"i knew it, i knew you were cheating on me."
"i'm not just LISTEN!"
"i'm not listening to a single word that comes out of your cheating mouth."
"Lili! Look at who this is!"
"you are cheating on me with cleo? how does that make this ANY better?"
"Lili, I'm Gay," cleo finishes the argument. she stands up and brushes past lili as she leaves.
i lock eyes with philip and we both run towards the door at the same time, leaving lili and jack to deal with their own problems.

i go to school in 6 days. 6 days omg. that's terrifying. and packing has been going horribly. I have too much stuff that I want to bring... oops.
guess who will be back in the next chapter? do you have a favorite male character btw? because i love all my boys but i do have a few favorites...
