we walk rhythmically along the sidewalk. our hands sway close to each other and the sun has turned into a purple glow. he's breathing fast and I CAN FEEL my heart racing. i can't believe that just happened. i know that punching someone in the face is not the solution, but it makes me feel better. we eventually come to a stop in the middle of the road, a glint in both of our eyes.
"perrin, i'm feeling a high right now and i'm going to do something that might be a little stupid..."
"you said my na-" he yanks me towards him so that we're an inch apart.
"is it okay if i kiss you right now?" adrenaline is coursing through my veins.
"okay." he leans his head down and kisses me.
it's different from when i was with alex. alex was like syrup, always sweet and never changing. consistant. kit is fire. it feels cool for a second and then everything burns. we stand in the middle of the road, the sun slowly setting until a car honks at us to move. and then we break apart. i run one way and kit sprints in the other. I don't even notice the car as it zooms by; I'm just panting and staring straight at him.
