*two weeks later*

After two weeks cooped up in a small room, Jim was ready to sit in a chair on a bridge. Everyone was glad to have him back, but it wasn't the same without Chekov.

Apparently Chekov had woken up earlier that morning and passed out when he saw Tegwyn. She was thirty three weeks pregnant, which was much larger than when Chekov had saw her last. He was overjoyed when she told him the new baby was a girl. All of it was too overwhelming, so he fainted. He was only out for a couple minutes before Chekov insisted on feeling the baby kick. He would be able to return to work in a week, assuming things go well.

Despite the bridge being boring, Jim loved every minute of it. It felt great to just be back in the chair. He would be going on an away mission tomorrow to get to actually do something.

Jim would watch the kids in the last two weeks, spending time with them. Chris slept a lot, but when she was awake she liked to cry a lot. Malcolm and Elliot didn't cry much, but they had fits when it was time to nap. They were almost one and a half, but they hated naps. A lot. Elliot was okay with it, but he still protested. Malcolm just screamed.

The next day, they went on the mission. The planet was mostly water, the species lived underneath. Jim, Spock, Bones, Uhura, and a couple red shirts wore protective under water suits. Masks fit over their face, their hair still floating in the water.

Swimming to the underwater colony was probably the hardest part. It was located at least six hundred yards underwater, but the suits protected everyone from pressure. They had an endless supply of oxygen, so they could stay as long as they needed.

"Spock, what are your readings?" Kirk asked, anchoring himself to a bench.

"It's normal water captain. The temperature is seventy four degrees Fahrenheit." Spock said, looking down at a water proof tri-corder. Spock's bowl cut hair floated around in the water.

"Thanks Spock." Jim muttered, making his way over to the species leader.

Per usual, something went wrong. Bones' oxygen mask broke, causing Scotty to beam him up immediately. Although, he did pass out from lack of oxygen. Everyone just hoped he didn't breathe in water.

Spock was hit with a blast in the arm. Green blood swirled around him, leading to him being beamed up as well. Reminisce of the blood remained in the water.

Uhura and the red shirts ended up okay, but Jim was cut up. Nothing he couldn't solve with Naomi in his quarters.

"You need to stop getting hurt." Naomi mumbled, smiling a little.

"I know I'm sorry." Jim said laughing. Both of them looked at each other, trying to be serious, before they broke out laughing.

"We shouldn't laugh." Naomi said, trying to stop her laughter. There was a knock at the door, causing them to jump a little.

Naomi opened the door to Spock standing in the hallway. His hair was in a slicked back, greasy looking. "What has happened to my hair?" He asked, stepping inside.

"I think someone's messing with you." Jim said the instant he saw Spock. The laughing continued at the half Vulcans confusion. Even Elliot and Malcolm, who were sitting on the floor playing by the wall, laughed.

"The complexities of human pranks will always baffle me." Spock said, glaring at the twins. Both of them loved Spock, and Spock loved them, whether he would admit it or not.

"Maybe it was Chekov. He must be getting a little bored. Tegwyn had to work with me all day, so he couldn't be with her." Naomi explained, laughing to herself.

"Ensign Chekov must really be bored. He could've read a book." Spock muttered to himself. "But I can't get my hair to go back go it's normal position, can you help?"

"I'll try." Naomi said, moving Spock to sit at the table by Jim. Jim proceeded to poke at Spock's hair, trying to agitate him. It was working. Spock would swat Jim's hand when it came near his head.

"Please do your best, I do not wish to work with my hair like this." Spock insisted, pushing his hair down, only for it to stand up.

"I'll try. Jim can you give the twins a bath. And then give Chris a bath. Please?" Naomi asked Jim. He just rolled his eyes and picked up the twins, walking into the bathroom with them.

"Is it working?" Spock asked twenty minutes later. There was a type of glue in his hair that would most likely be there for a week or so.

"No, sorry. You'll be like this for a little while." Naomi said, just as Jim walked out of the bathroom with the twins. He was dripping wet, both babies giggling. "How was giving them a bath?"

"Never. Again." Jim muttered, glaring at Naomi. He set the twins on the bed and put clothes on them. Up until this point they were wearing only diapers.

"It's not so bad." Naomi joked, laughing. Malcolm pushed a sheet at Jim, trying to not get dressed.

"Daddy!" He yelled, squirming around. Jim was getting more and more frustrated before he managed to get him dressed. Malcolm was put in his crib, crying. But a couple minutes passed and he fell asleep.

"Fascinating." Spock mumbled, confused at the young child. "I'll continue to attempt to get the glue out of my hair."

Spock left, astounded at the twins resistance level to Jim. Elliot was squirming like Malcolm, only more. Jim got a shirt on him before giving up.

"Okay, you'll just sleep with a blanket." He told Elliot as he set him in the crib.

"Mommy!" Elliot screamed, wanting Naomi to put him to bed. Jim handed him over to her before getting Chris to give her a bath. Elliot was quiet instantly and fell asleep fast. He laid in his crib and didn't wake up for a while.

Chris was much better. She was her normal happy self, enjoying the bath. Jim tried her off in a fuzzy towel, causing her to giggle. She was easier to dress, but Jim didn't want to put her to bed yet.

"You love that girl so so much." Naomi pointed out, holding him from behind, her arm around his waist.

"She's great. The twins are great too. And so are you." Jim mumbled, setting Chris on the bed. He turned around and pulled Naomi into a long romantic kiss.

Chris started crying, as if she was grossed out by her parents kissing. "Yeah yeah." Jim muttered, smiling at the crying baby. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, calming her down.

Naomi grabbed a PADD and laid in bed. She watched as Jim put Chris down to sleep, smiling at her husband. He was better than she thought he'd be at taking care of baby's.

"Isn't our life great?" He asked, laying in bed. He pulled her close, trying to distract her from work.

"It is." Naomi agreed, trying to work. "I have a medical report on the mission due in the morning. Get some sleep."

"Okay." Jim muttered, already half asleep. He was out not even a minute later, leaving Naomi with some peace and quiet.
