"Your ilollical." Ellie muttered before climbing onto the bed. This would be a long night for Spock.
And a long night it was. Ellie and the twins were very giggly and kept waking up the young babies.
"Why won't you go to bed, you were tired." Spock stated, trying to calm the kids down.
"Hahahaha!" Malcolm giggled, jumping up and down on Spock's bed.
"Not tired!" Elliot yelled, jumping off the bed to hug Spock. He wrapped his chubby arms around Spock's leg and hung in as he started to walk.
"I am not a climbing wall." Spock told Elliot, trying to pry the toddler from his leg. He had to move softly, he didn't want to hurt Elliot. "Alright then." Spock accepted, walking over to the bed. Malcolm and Ellie jumped up onto Spock. He struggles under the weight of all the kids.
"Wuv you." Ellie muttered, kissing his cheek. She smiled at him and giggled, hanging from his neck. Spock held her up along with Malcolm.
"If I read you a story will you sleep?" Spock asked, trying to get the kids off of him. They all nodded excited, jumping off of Spock and running to the bed.
Spock read the excited toddlers a book. They all cuddled up and fell asleep almost as soon as the story finished. "Good." Spock whispered to himself, deciding to do some work.
Only twenty minutes had passed before Gracie woke up and cried. Anxious not to wake the other kids, Spock picked her up and tried to settle her down. He tried giving her a bottle, rocking her, humming to her, bouncing her, etc. Nothing was working.
"Please don't wake the other children." Spock muttered to the month old baby. She continued to cry, waving her hands in the air. Her curly hair was stuck to her face, cold sweat covered her. "You feel warm." Spock muttered to himself, setting Gracie down in a bouncy seat.
He got a small medkit from the bathroom and brought out a thermometer. He inserted it into Gracie's open mouth, holding it closed for her the best he could to make sure she didn't stop breathing.
"Logic, don't fail me now." He mumbled, taking the thermometer out. 100.6 degrees. "Logic strikes again. Why does McCoy always complain?"
Spock picked up the baby and messaged sickbay for medicine. Instead of a nurse coming, Tegwyn just came by to get the baby. "What happened?" She asked, gingerly taking her young daughter.
"She started crying. I took her temperature. 100.6 degrees. I suggest taking her to the sickbay." Spock said, moving his hand over the baby's cheek, moving a small strand of already long hair from her face.
"Thanks anyway Spock." Tegwyn said before leaving. Little did she know, she'd be on her own for a while.
"You're welcome." Spock said, going back into his quarters. Elliot had gotten up and was sitting by Chris. She must have woken up during the fuss with Gracie, but didn't cry.
"Spock." Elliot mumbled, yawning. He was playing with Chris a little, keeping her occupied.
"Elliot, you need to go back to bed." Spock said, moving Elliot away from Chris. Chris started crying, but stopped when Spock set Elliot back down beside her.
"Fascinating." Spock mumbled, watching the siblings. Elliot tried picking up Chris, but he was only one and a half, so he couldn't do it.
"Help." He muttered, still trying to pick up his sister.
"Here, I have a solution for everyone." Spock told Elliot, picking him up with Chris. He set them back on the bed and watched at their eyes dropped before falling asleep.
"Spock, be honest, how well behaved were they?" Naomi asked Spock early that morning.
"They were alright." Spock answered. "Where is the captain and McCoy?"
"They are getting Chekov home. The poor guy was absolutely hammered, he can barely walk at all. I'm pretty sure he passed out. According to them he only drank two or three." Alaska answers, carefully picking up Ellie.
"Need help with one of the twins?" Spock asked Naomi, picking up Malcolm.
"Yeah, thanks Spock." Naomi answered, holding Chris and Elliot.
"Jim won the bet. It only took one and a half for Chekov to get drunk." Alaska admitted, keeping her voice down not to wake Ellie.
Naomi smiled and nodded before walking back to the quarters with three kids and Spock. Spock set Malcolm down in his crib before leaving. Naomi put the other two to bed before Jim came home. He wasn't too drunk though. Maybe Spock babysitting wasn't such a bad thing.
