*Two weeks later. Alaska is twenty one weeks pregnant. Uhura is eighteen weeks pregnant. Sorry if it isn't the best, in writing on the bus. Gravel roads.*
Since there is so many complications with Uhura and her unborn twins, she is confined to sickbay. She hated it with all she had, ignoring nurses and doctors when they'd come to check up on her. Nyota never had been one to sit still for long.
Spock insisted in finding out the gender of the babies. He was a life planner and needed to have to names picked out months before the babies. Nyota agreed, on finding out the gender, not the planning life.
The babies were girls. Spock didn't move, he didn't speak when the nurse announced it. Nyota screamed with happiness and grabbed Spock's hand, who still refused to move.
"Spock, honey, you're scaring me." She said, shaking him a little. His eyes didn't blink, his chest rose and fell so slowly that if you didn't look hard, you'd think he wasn't breathing.
"Girls. Both... Girls." He mumbled, barely audible to anyone. The nurse had stood up and slowly walked out, curious to see if he'd freak out. She went to get copies of the ultrasound.
"Yes Spock, girls." Nyota told him, squeezing his hand.
"Will I have to do their hair? And be surrounded by pink? And help them with makeup? And play girly games with them? Will they want to do my hair?" Spock started asking in rapid fire. "Will they want to put makeup on me? Nyota, please don't let them put makeup on me."
"That's too far ahead Spock. Just relax. It won't be as girly when they're babies. They'll have pink clothes and cute little bows for their hair." Nyota said, motioning sizes with her hands. A knock at the door and Noami entered, Jim following.
"Hi, I asked the nurse if I could give these to you and talk for a while." Naomi asked, closing the door once Jim was inside.
"So, boys or girls? Girl and a boy?" Jim asked, sitting in a chair opposite of Spock. The chair the nurse had been sitting in. Jim was in sickbay from a small away mission injury. A very badly sprained ankle, but nothing the sickbay couldn't heal. Sadly, side effects required him to stay over night.
"Girls." Nyota said, causing Naomi to scream. Jim burst out in laughter, glancing at Spock. Spock glared at Jim, not saying a word.
"Have fun with that one Spock!" Jim exclaimed, a grin appearing on his face. It was unlikely it would go away for a while.
"Eh." Spock's voice squeaked, his eyes opening even wider if that was possible.
"Naomi, are the twins identical?" Nyota asked, looking at the ultrasound picture.
"Umm, no they aren't." Naomi said, observing the scan pictures.
"Awe, I wanted them to be just to see Spock freak out." Nyota said, sighing.
"He seems to be panicking already." Naomi laughed, shaking her head from laughing so much.
"We'll let you two be for a while. Good luck Spock. Don't worry, maybe one of the girls will be a Tomboy like Chris." Jim said, slapping Spock's shoulder before walking out. Naomi waved goodbye and walked out.
"Spock's going to have fun with those girls." Naomi laughed, walking slower beside Jim. His ankle was sore and he was limping, but due to advanced medicine it would heal in a couple days. He hated his allergy to meds.
"Yeah, can you imagine him playing dress up with them? Chris doesn't really like playing that, but when she does it's embarrassing." Jim said, limping out of the sickbay. He was going to get the kids before going back to the quarters. Because of side effects, he was forced to stay home, much to his displeasure.
The kids were tired today, so they wouldn't cause much trouble. They practically slept all day, giving Jim time to write reports and record captains logs. But the downside of them sleeping all day, was that they stay up all night. Jim tried to solve the problem by keeping them awake, but they'd fall asleep no matter what. It had been a bit of a long day.
