Sydney POV:

I almost felt bad for snapping at Andrea. I mean, I had never even talked to her and literally met Kenny today. Like, less than 24 hours ago. He wasn't mine, so I had no right to treat him like he was. But, neither did she. I looked at Kenny from across the room.
What am I going to do? I thought. I can't be the girl that hogs the guy that isn't hers, but I don't want anyone else to have him. I pondered on for a while before I finally came to a (quite pathetic) conclusion. I would deny all intimate feelings for Kenny. I decided to start this journey, I would go and meet other people. I searched for someone who looked equally as awkward as I, when I saw a scrawny blonde kid roughly my age sitting on the steps. I slowly approached, thinking of how to start this conversation. But, as I tripped up the stairs, I realized I didn't have to.
"Are you okay?" Scrawny Blonde asked me. I laughed.
"Yeah, I'm fine." This happens wayyy too often.
"Well that's good, because I thought you weren't, and that would be good for neither of us."
"That's a very good point."
"I'm Luke." Scrawny Blonde finally introduced.
"Sydney."
"So, how's Australia?" Luke was funny in his own lame way. Talking to him was a great way to get the Arizona Stud off my mind.
"Never been. But I used to have a cat named Aussie."
"What happened to her?"
"We gave her away."
"Why? Cats are cool."
"Well I still have two, and it's a long story."
"Oh, okay."
"I'm gonna head upstairs." I said after an awkward 10 seconds.
"Well, have fun." Luke said giggling.
"Haha no promises."
