"The week is long
the silver cat feeds
when blue meets
yellow in the west"
"Awesome. It's gibberish." Halley stared at the translation in front of them, Robin's data long gone, and now replaced by symbols she didn't recognize and words she couldn't contextualize. She shook her head, stepping away from the board. There went an entire day she could have been using to find a new job.
Now, she was confused, and unemployed. Perfect.
Robin followed her lead, stepping away from the others and tossing her hat onto the counter behind them. "I'm going home."
That kickstarted the boys, Steve pulling Dustin back and all four of them returning to the front of the store where Robin made sure that the cash register was locked, and Steve grabbed hold of the handle to pull down the metal store door.
"I mean, it just..." he started, ushering the others under the door and into the belly of the mall, "it just can't be right." He was on his knees locking the gate as Dustin and Robin did not wait for him.

"Honestly, I think it's great news." Halley and Steve both turned to the younger boy.
"How is this great news?" Steve said, pushing up off the ground. He tossed his keys up in the air and caught them before Halley could snatch them. "I mean, so much for being American heroes. It's total nonsense."
Dustin barely let him get the words out before he was arguing. "It's not nonsense. It's too specific. It's obviously a code."
Frowning, Halley looked at Robin, who was the only other person she had faith in not getting into a spat with a barely-highschooler. "Seriously? A code?"
"Yes! Like a super secret spy code."
"You've gotta stop sneaking into sci-fi movies," Halley muttered.
Robin gave her a 'hold on' look. "It's not a total stretch." Halley gave her an incredulous look. She was buying into this? If anyone would have followed one of Dustin's conspiracy theories, Halley would have been sure it'd be Steve. "Listen, just for kicks, let's entertain the possibility that it is a secret Russian transmission. What'd you think they were gonna say, "fire the warhead at noon"?"
Dustin nodded vehemently. Steve and Halley shared a look.
"Besides, my translation is correct, I know that for sure, so—"
