Ok, so this aint a marauder headcanon, but I really like it. So yeah, here i go...
*Hufflepuff* - Well, I think we should have separate common rooms for the houses because they can have some privacy and personalize it according to their own choices and tastes. I mean, Rowena's children and Godric's children won't have the same likes right ?
*Other houses* - Yeah, great idea !
Hufflepuff - Well Godric, where will you have it ?
Gryffindor - Tower! The highest one ! Tower, yeah !
*Hufflepuff* - Well, it'll be so far away from everything, having to climb dozens of stairs everyday..."
Gryffindor - Tower !
Hufflepuff - Merlin...
Slytherin - I'm going for under the lake ! Like A SUPER SECRET LAIR !
Hufflepuff - We'll need so many charms to keep it dry, so much magic and it'll be so dark and dreary...
Slytherin - Super. Secret. Lair.
Hufflepuff - Ok, ok, we'll waste tons of time keeping some rooms under the lake dry, Rowena what about you ?
Ravenclaw - Tower.
Hufflepuff - But its so fucking painful to climb stairs and be in isolation from everything else.
Ravenclaw - Exactly the isolation will help the children focus better and anything he can build I can build better. ( points to Gryffindor )
Hufflepuff - Oh my Morgana... you're gonna fight over towers ? I give up. Anyone wants me, I'll be in the kitchens.
