NEVERLAND RANCH
Zoe's POV
I sat with my head in my hands, my foot tapping against the ground nervously. Oh Jesus, where is my baby?
Michael placed a hand on my shoulder comfortingly. "Calm down, alright? They should be here soon..."
I sighed. "I have a bad feeling about this, Michael. I don't think this was such a good idea..."
He scooted closer to me and completely wrapped his arm around me. I tensed up at the feeling of his body so close to mine. I haven't been this close to him in God knows how long. I used to hate spending a single second away from him but now even being near him is awkward. Oh, how times change.
"Everything will be alright. I promise you that." He assured me.
Even though I knew he had no way to promise something like that, I took his words and tried to have high hopes.
Another 20 minutes passed and still nothing. Not even a phone call to let us know what's going on. This is pure torture.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching the room and I perked up. Oh, thank God he's okay-
"Why do you keep doing this to me?" Lisa asked as she entered the room, tears stinging the corner of her eyes.
Michael pulled away from me and gave her a confused look. "What are you talking about-"
"Ashley called." She stated.
I wrinkled my eyebrows. Who's Ashley? I looked over to Michael and saw that his face was laced with guilt. Oh, I see what's going on here...
"You promised you weren't seeing her anymore!" She shouted.
"I'm not seeing her anymore..." He responded.
"Then why did she just call for you, huh? How did she get your new number?"
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. At least I know I'm not the only woman Michael struggled to be faithful to.
"Lisa, let's not talk about this now." He said, seeming slightly embarrassed that this was all happening right in front of me.
"No, we will talk about it-"
"No, you won't." I interrupted, earning surprised stares from both of them. "Look, I'm sorry that you guys are having issues, but this is not the time for your arguing. My son has been missing for almost a week. As of now, I don't know if the police found him or not, or if he's even anywhere near here. With that being said, fuck Ashley. There are more important things to worry about."
Lisa gaped at me as her cheeks grew red. I felt bad for being so harsh, but it was definitely necessary. She shouldn't be focusing on her problems at a time like this.
She cleared her throat looked down at the floor awkwardly. "Well then, I guess we'll continue this discussion later..." She said quietly before turning and leaving the room.
Poor lady. Looks like she didn't know what she was getting herself into when she married Michael Jackson.
Michael turned to me and gave me a weak smile. "Thank you so much-"
I held up my hand to stop him. "Uh uh, I didn't do that for you. You're wrong for cheating on that woman. She doesn't deserve that. And if it wasn't for the fact that I'm worried sick about my baby I'd let her chew your ass out right here on the spot."
His smile slowly faded. "I guess that's fair..."
I snorted, dropping my head back into my hands. Lord, I really question Michael's intelligence sometimes.
