Zoe's POV

"Michael, that is not true!" I giggled, throwing the skittles in my hand at him.

He laughed and dodged the candy. "It is true!"

He's claiming that back when he used to tour he would see me watching him from backstage and drooling. Which is a total lie, by the way.

"There would be a whole puddle of drool around your feet... We'd have to have someone come and mop it up..." He teased.

I scoffed and swatted his arm. "You are such a little liar!"

We'd spent most of the afternoon this way, poking fun at each other and laughing about the old days. As of now, we're outside siting cross-legged on a picnic blanket. When we were married we had picnics all the time in this exact same spot, underneath Michael's favorite tree.

I gazed up at the tree, thinking about the first time I ever noticed it, so many years ago. At first I only saw it as any old tree, but just like everything else in Neverland, it became a very symbolic part of my life.

"Michael!" I shouted, wrapping my sweater around me as I peered into the darkness. "Michael!"

I'd woken up in the middle of the night and was surprised to find that he wasn't laying next to me. He gets musical inspiration in his sleep sometimes, so I figured he must be in the studio. I tried to go back to sleep, but it was impossible without feeling the warmth of his body near me. I dragged myself out of bed and set out to find him.

But he wasn't in the studio. Or the library. Or in his office.

Where could he possibly be? I looked in every room in the house, but he was still no where to be found.

Growing worried, I decided to call Bill.

"Bill Bray." He answered sleepily.

"Bill, sorry to wake you up at this time of night." I apologized.

"No problem, what's going on?"

I sighed, twirling the phone cord around my fingers. "I can't find Michael." I explained. "He wasn't in bed when I woke up and he's not in the house. Do you know if he left?"

I heard him chuckle quietly. "Oh lord..."

I wrinkled my eyebrows. "What? Do you know where he is?"

"Have you checked outside?" He asked through soft snickering.

"Uh... No... Why would he be-"

"Just check outside, alright? You'll find him, trust me."

"Well, okay..." I responded, still unsure.

He giggled more. "You guys have a good night..."

"Yeah, you too."

I hung up the phone and grabbed a sweater out of the hall closet, figuring it might not be such a bad idea to take Bill's advice.

So that's how I ended up outside in the dead of the night, freezing half to death, looking for Michael. But I still couldn't find him.

I cursed Bill under my breath. Is this some kind of prank? Maybe that's why he was laughing.

Frustrated, I groaned and turned back toward the house, prepared to call Bill back and give him a piece of my mind.

I was stopped by the sound of very faint whistling. I whirled around, trying to find the source of the sound, but there was no one there.
