Molly's POV
I put the car in park and sat back against the seat with a sigh. I am so annoyed by this.
Deciding to get it over with as quickly as possible, I popped the trunk and stepped out of the car. Anyone could've read the frustration on my face as I rounded to the back of the car, pulled the trunk open, and lugged all of the plastic bags out. I used my elbow to shut the trunk and headed off toward the apartment building.
It's not the end of the world, Molly. I told myself. Just do your job so you can go home.
I entered the building and approached the elevator, waiting patiently for the doors to open. Every single second that passed pissed me off.
Finally there was a ding and the doors slid open, allowing me to step inside. I pressed the "P" for penthouse suite and waited, again, to reach my destination.
47 years later the doors slid open again and I stepped out into a dimly lit hallway. I took a deep breath. Whatever you do, don't kill him.
I stood in front of the door to the penthouse suite and banged my foot against it, partly because my hands were full and partly because I wanted to be rude.
He better not keep me waiting. I'm not waiting anymore today.
The Lord must have heard me because within two seconds he pulled the door open.
His eyes widened in surprise. "Molly! Hi..."
I shoved the groceries toward him. "These are from your dad."
"Oh, wow. Uh, thanks..." He stammered, taking them out of my hands. "He didn't have to do that."
"Well he did, so..."
He smiled and nodded awkwardly. "I'll have to call and thank him... Did you want to, uh... Come in or...?"
I scrunched my face in disapproval. "Nah, I'm just gonna head out now."
"You sure? I just cleaned up, so it actually smells decent right now..." He joked.
I wasn't amused. "I'm good. See ya later."
"Wait, Molly..." He urged.
I sighed in annoyance. "Whaaattt?" I groaned.
"Hold up, just one second." He pleaded. "I'll be right back."
I scoffed as he ducked into the apartment. Like I said before, I'm TIRED of waiting today.
He popped back around the door, the groceries no longer in his hands. "Do you mind stepping inside? Just for a minute..." He asked.
YES I DO MIND THANK YOU VERY MUCH. "Make it quick, Junior. I don't have time..." I agreed, considering I would like to my keep my job.
He smiled and stepped back so I could enter the apartment.
Woah. It took everything in me to keep my jaw off of the floor. This place is... Woah.
This has to be one of the if not the most beautiful apartment I've ever seen in my entire life. The decor is all white, the couches, the curtains, the rugs. And it's actually clean. And when I say clean I mean, crystal, spotless, pristine. How in god's name is this JUNIOR'S apartment?
"So, what do you think?" He asked, standing next to me as I gaped at the luxurious setting.
I shook the surprise off of my face. "Oh, uh... Yeah... It's nice..."
He grinned. "Thanks. I picked out all of the furniture and stuff. I wanted it to be real classy... The ladies like a man who keeps it classy, ya know what I mean?" He giggled, holding his hand in the air for a high five.
