Part 16

(Y/n) calls Enji to let him know she's alive and recovering.
He was relieved and gave her a quick update on Katherine.
The mother frowns. "I'm sorry I've left her with you. I told the League I would return after I've recovered. Her milk supply is in the freezer; it should last."
"It's ok. I'm just glad you're alive. Does the League have any demands right now?"
"Other than releasing Dabi, no. I've given them something to think about."
"I've talked to the Hero Commision about your proposal and at least pretending to agree. It is the only option that might keep the most people safe. If something happens obviously the deal will fall through."
"Thank you. I have assumptions and they should be manageable. Ah...I should get going. Shiggy is here."
"Be safe and come back soon."
"Will do." She mumbles and hangs up.

"How is Katherine?"
"She's fine."
"Do you miss her?"
"Yeah. The postpartum depression is going away. But I know I should enjoy the break while I have one. Soon she won't leave my side."
"I bet you'll be a good mom."
"In a way I feel like a mother to all of you. I wanna be there for you and make you happy."
"It's naïve you know."  He mumbles and looks away.
"Yeah but I can't help it. Did you come to check on me or come to ask me to play with you?"
"Both.
"Sure. Plus you can bounce ideas off me or think out loud."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because I know you have a lot going on upstairs and need to work things out."
Shigaraki is surprised but stays quiet.

(Y/n) sighs softly as Toga brushes her hair. "Do you think I'll be able to do this with my daughter some day?"
"Of course you will. You'll recover and come out of this war alive. Katherine is so lucky to have a mom like you." The blonde smiles widely and puts her friend's hair in pigtails.
Spinner crosses his arms across the room.
"Do you still have a problem with me?"
"Obviously. Injured or not I will be keeping my guard up around you."
"Tenko, Shuichi is being mean to me." (Y/n) whines softly and looks at the villain boss.
"Spinner leave her alone. She'll only annoy you if you let her."
"How come she gets to use our real names? If I tried, I'd be dusted."
"Because she insists."
(Y/n) smiles softly. "I love your names."

"I bet he's just scared his dream won't come true. You need to have faith in (n/n), Spinner!" Toga grumbles.
"That's easy for to say when you look like that."
"I know plenty like you who are thriving in life. I just need to introduce you." (Y/n) assures then frowns and puts her hand over her wound. "Plus you owe me for shooting me on my wedding day."
The reptilian growls and looks away. "I am sorry but I was just following orders."
"I forgive you."
Spinner turns his head sightly and looks at the bandages she has showing.
Toga giggles and hugs the woman around the shoulders.

(Y/n) looks around at everyone and ingrains this moment into her memory.
The happy calm before the hellish storm.
She cherishes every day she has with the League.
Getting to know them even more, learning their hopes and dreams and their plans for the future.
(Y/n) was blinded to the truth.
The harsh reality that finally came when All For One escaped.
The one that caused chaos in Japan and forced her into hiding.

After she recovered and left with her mission she talked to the Hero Commision herself.
Enji had her checked out at the hospital to make sure everything was actually ok before she came home to Katherine.
The baby was overjoyed to be reunited with her mother.
Likewise (Y/n) cried and slept with the baby for a while.
When the villains attacked, Enji wanted to ship her to be with her parents but she refused to leave the country.
Unfortunately the number one hero demanded that she stay at UA where she could be protected and away from the danger.

(Y/n) could only watch in horror as all her hard work and naïve dreams come crashing down because of All For One.
If it weren't for him the League wouldn't have to die.
Himiko would be alive.
Touya would be alive.
Jin would be alive.
And...Tenko.

(Y/n) watches all her friends die.
She kicked and screamed to be let go, so she could go out and help.
But Nezu was under strict orders not to let her leave under any circumstances.
(Y/n) falls to her knees and screams in agony.
The staff around them were sympathetic.
"Let me see him. Let me talk to him. I can't let him die. Tenko needs me, please." She begs, gripping Nezu's vest.
"There is no saving him (Y/n). I'm sorry." The principal rubs her back gently.
Mic stops her panicking by hand chopping her neck.
"Although our young heroes are facing extreme physical pain, (Y/n) has endured the most emotional anguish. Only time can heal her wounds."
"I'll lay her down with Katherine." Mic offers before he ends up joining the fight.

When everything is over Enji comes back to (Y/n) and Katherine, relieved they're both ok...physically at least.
He knew she was devastated and would be closed off for a while.
Although it didn't do much, Dabi was happy she joined the family visits.
Spinner was the only real survivor from the League.
No one felt that weight more than him.
(Y/n) was allowed to visit him but it was more them crying into each other than actual talking.
She was practically mute for months after what happened.
Enji knew he couldn't help her, not really. He just needed to be there and take care of her.
(Y/n) appreciated it deeply. She did her best to be there for Katherine but she definitely relied on Enji and the Todoroki's a lot.

All the changes and rebuilding were difficult for (Y/n) to deal with so Enji made her take Katherine to live with her family in the UK for a while.
It was a much needed break, change of scenery and stress relief for the mother.
Her parents were glad to have her back and did their best to help her.
Instead of a few months, they spent a couple years abroad.
Plenty of visits in between though.
(Y/n) and Katherine come back for Shoto's graduation.
Enji welcomes them back and enjoys the life they can now start.
With a world that is on the mend and definitely safer.
