"Eat up brats!" Dionysus ordered. "Stop slurping, Peter Johnson."
Dionysus slurped his Diet Coke."Why are you here if you don't like it?" Percy asked.
"Well," Dionysus said. "I used to work in the surgical ward and one day I was drunk during a procedure and cut off my patient's legs. Later, I gave him some new legs, but they were goat legs. The head of the hospital decided that I should be stuck in the psych ward away from my wife, Ariadne, who works in the surgical ward. Instead of wine, I'm stuck drinking Diet Coke."
"Why didn't the person sue you?" Jason asked.
"John Green, it's because that person works here!" Dionysus snapped.
"Who are they?" Percy asked excitedly.
"Me," Grover said. "I was given a well-paid job and home here as long as I didn't sue the hospital or Dionysus. I will never belong with other people because of my legs.
"Don't say that!" protested a pretty girl with elfish features and green eyes.
"It's the truth, Juniper," Grover sighed.
"No it isn't!" Juniper protested. "You're unique and that makes you special. Your goat legs make you unique and give you more personality. Besides, your goat legs work better than your other legs did!"

I should of been paying attention while they played dodgeball, but I was captivated by the beauty of Calypso. Her milky-pale skin, almond-shaped eyes, light dusting of freckles, and pouty lips sent a tingling sensation through his body. I felt on fire just looking at her. I was sure that no girl that hot-and out of my league-would ever even glance at me twice unless she was going to flay me alive.
I wondered how long we would be stuck here. I wanted to run away, but the mental ward was highly guarded and on the tenth floor. Even I, McShizzle, couldn't survive that fall. At least I had Festus in my temporary room. I missed Festus. My mother had made it for me when I was a baby. She had died when I was 8 in a workplace fire.
Whenever I thought of my mother, I felt  myself being burnt to a crisp again. My flame of life seemed to flicker when I thought of my kind and beautiful mother who had always been there for me. After her death, my family disowned me and turned me to the foster care system.
Calypso looked totally different from my mother, but she had the same beautiful smile. From what I could tell, Calypso was more sassy, but still down-to-earth. She and Katie had talked about plants at breakfast. She was really growing on me.

I couldn't wait to get back to my room. I ate only half a pomegranate. I wasn't very hungry. When we were dismissed, I quickly bolted to his room. I took my bag of personal belongings and went into the bathroom. Unfortunately, it didn't shut.
I pulled out a thin, silver razor. I felt it kiss my arms and blood seeped out of my wounds like stained lipstick. Pain and relief were blended together like a smoothie until I couldn't tell the difference.
I sighed. I had done enough. Then, I looked down onto his pale arms and a wave of dizziness and pain drowned me. Rivers of scarlett blood coursed on my arms. I grabbed some toilet paper, wetted it, and dabbed at my self-inflicted cuts. I winced in pain and gasped as the cold water make contact with my fresh wounds.
I looked under the cabinet and pulled out some band aids. I started to bandage my wounds. I pulled my long sleeves over my arms. No one needed to know about this.
