I locked my gaze with Chris's eyes and walked over to him, smiling. Suddenly, his lips met mine and I felt like the anger in my stomach was unraveling faster than badly tied knots. His lips were rough and chapped, but they felt perfect against mine. I couldn't believe this was happening. If it was a dream, then I never wanted it to end.
Eventually we pulled apart and I felt my face hurt as my mouth stretched into a huge grin. Chris was watching me with a playful glint in his eyes. He wrapped his arms around my shoulder and I could feel him warm breathe against my ear. "Thanks," he said.
I smiled even more-if that was possible. He was talking. "You don't have to say thank you," I said as we walked to get our dinner.
He squeezed my hand and that was the moment I realized that he was all I had been looking for and more. He was filling the empty part of my heart and I had never felt happier.

Chris
My head against her shoulder
I feel so complete
Like a puzzle finally put together
I never want this to end
I never want us to end
But I know that all good things end
It has always happened to me before
Good things are always fleeting

I quickly took off my shirt before jumping into the swimming pool. The cold water shocked me and I quickly reached the surface and breathed in the sweet air. "I can't believe you beat me," I grumbled to Annabeth who was  treading water.
She stuck her tongue out at me and splashed me. "You want war?" I asked. "I'll give you war!"
I swum to the edge of the pool and hauled myself out before heavily jumping next to Annabeth. I reached the surface to find her kicking her feet at me. I coughed out the water and flung it at her. Pretty soon we were giggling as we splashed each other. The splashes grew bigger and bigger. Finally, Annabeth jumped right next to me and flung her arms around my waist before hailing me underwater.
I was glad I had my goggles do I could see her blonde hair floating around her and her gray eyes glinting with happiness. Somehow out lips managed to meet each other and we were soon kissing. Her lips were pressed against mine and I was somewhat disappointed when she broke apart from me and broke the surface of the water. I followed her upwards,
She was laughing and her hair was tangled. She looked so beautiful and strong. I knew I was lucky to be with her, but I couldn't imagine anything else. I didn't want to imagine anything else. Annabeth was my anchor; she gave me a reason to try in life. She gave me a reason to smile and a reason to laugh. She gave me love and hope. Most importantly, she taught me that you don't have to be ashamed of your past because you still have your future ahead of you and anything is possible.
