   Nico was steadily improving; we all were. Some days were still rough, but Nico cried less and less and his smiles and laughter became more frequent. Nico had always looked good, but he looked happier. It had everything to do with how he would curl his lips upward and how his laugh was birdsong to my ears.
"Wake up, Nico," I said as I tried to wake him up.
"Leave me alone, Solace," he grumbled.
Nico usually called me Solace when he was flirting with me or annoyed. I hoped he was doing the former. Nico cleared his throat and I looked at his raised eyebrow before my gaze was glued on his full lips.
   It was strange because I was standing above him and he was laying on his back below me on a comfy bed. I felt like a giraffe trying to converse with a sleeping dormouse. "I'm awake," Nico finally said.
    "Yeah, you are," I stated.
     I cursed myself silently. That was the dumbest response ever. I should have said something witty or flirty, instead of stating the obvious. "What am I?" Nico blurted out suddenly.
   "Nico, you're the most amazing person I've ever met," I said without hesitating.
   Nico didn't know what to say. I shuffled backwards as he grabbed some clothes and changed in the restroom. He came out in a black tee and oversized jeans. "Have you kissed before?" Nico asked.
    I didn't know what to say. Should I tel the truth? I looked at Nico's curious expression and blurted out," yes. I've kissed a lot of different people and most of them have no idea how to kiss."
   There was an awkward silence what could have been mere heartbeats or several days. "What kind of people have you kissed?" Nico asked.
    "Umm.." I said. I wanted to say that I'd never kissed anyone as cute as him-not that we had kissed yet besides on the cheek. "Lots of people. I've done pecks, full-blown make-out sessions, and ever kiss in between with all sorts of people. I usually kissed a lot when I got in my highs; the problem was that no one stuck around me during my lows." 
   "I would do that," Nico said softly as he slowly approached me.
    I stared, transfixed by the contrary between his coffee-colored eyes and milky-pale skin. Nice was slowly approaching me and I felt a haiku flying from my lips. "You are amazing," I said. "I really care about you. Can we just kiss now?"
   Nico obliged and his soft, sweet lips make contact with mine. I felt my brain explode in happiness. Nico tasted like a mixture of pomegranates and wintergreen mouth wash. His silky, coal-black hair was the softest thing my hands had ever touched. The kiss started soft and sweet like a Disney song and grew more passionate and fierce like battling lions.
   Nico's hands went to my waist and he gently caressed my hair as he tipped me backwards on the bed. Nico was on top of me and controlling the kiss. I broke free for a second and nibbled his neck to leave a sign that this kiss wasn't just a figment of my imagination. Nico made a sound like a mating cat and I joined my mouth to his to continue the kiss.
   He nibbled my lips softly and soon our tongues were tangling together. I teased him by entering his mouth and quickly fleeing back into my mine. Nico moved his hand from my hair to my shoulder and started massaging it rapidly and quite forcefully. The kiss deepened when Nico started dominating the kiss.
    Everything was going just perfectly. I felt Nico's hand stroking my chest and I felt a sudden adrenaline rush. Every little touch from his soft hands was like lightning. The door flew open and Nico managed to squeak and jump off me. I looked up to see Reyna with her arms folded. "Dionysus told me to get you guys," she said. "We're moving into our dorms at the school tomorrow. They're going to take us shopping for clothes today. Now, you guys better get to the amphitheater for breakfast . If you hurry, I might just keep that between us."
    With that she closed the door and her fading footsteps told me she left. "Well, I think we need to go, now," I said.
   Nico nodded and grinned sheepishly. I loved how the corner of his lips turned up slightly. "We can continue this later," he suggested.
