I could see Jason was agitated. He was biting his lip and his eyebrows were furrowed together. He was strangely still and kept missing his mouth when he tried to eat. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "Jason, what's wrong?" I asked.
Jason sighed and ran his hands through his golden hair. "I bumped into someone I knew today," he finally said.
I felt a twinge of worry eating away my chest like a dog gnawing at a bone. Was it a former girlfriend? Did he like them better this he liked me? What had I done wrong? I had tried so hard for us to work together; I didn't want to see the best part of my life fall apart. "It was a guy named Bryce Laurence," Jason continued after awhile. "He was a bully when I met him and he hasn't lost any of his cruelty. He killed his sister's car without a single flicker of remorse. That's why he's here."
I felt relief seep into my bones. Then it turned to lead because Jason was upset. I couldn't bear to see it. The scar on his lip was more evident than ever and his eyes were filled with sadness. "What did he do to you?" I asked.
Jason started to shake and I wrapped an arm around him. "He made fun of me a lot," he said," and he would beat kids up. I-I told him to stop and he turned me into his scapegoat. At least it was the right thing."
I wrapped both arms around Jason's shoulders and held him close. "You did the right thing," I whispered. "You can't docs everything. Nobody can, but we can try and that's exactly what you did."

Percy was goofing off as usual while we ate. He rambled on about the ocean and how he wanted to be a surfer. "It would be awesome!" he said earnestly. "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"An architect of course," I replied. "I want to build something that people will remember and when they look at it, they'll be astounded by it. I want to build something that will rival the Eiffel Tower or the Taj Mahal. I want to blend classical and innovative architecture together to form monuments that move people."
"I know you could do it," Percy said.
"Of course I could, Seaweed Brain," I replied.
Percy laughed and I felt like I had enough energy to build my own Great Wall of China. I grabbed Percy's hand and stood up. "Come on!" I said. "Let's go change and go swimming."
"I'll race you up there!" Percy yelled.
I smiled and we began pumping our legs. He had no chance I winning this because I would use every ounce of my brainpower to win. I had a strategy and it would work.

Chris
A sea of faces
One stands out
Stringy brown hair
Buff arms
And a killer smile
I walk over to hear in a dreamlike state
Before I know what I am doing
Our lips connect
Her arms wrap around my thin frame
And my hands run through her hair
It's all too perfect
I never want this moment to end
