I sat in my Algebra class, with my eye constantly darting to my mobile just in case there was a text from Rafe.

Is it working? Is there a signal?
Yes and Yes.

Don't even ask me about the first two lessons. I did not even make a pit stop at my locker. I've been hauling my bag to all my lessons, because my brain was so switched off. Math is so boring. I glared at the text book disdainfully. It was as if it was smirking and challenging me to solve its problems. I mean why the bloody hell can't it solve its own problems? I checked my mobile screen again, still no message.

Text me, damn it Rafe!

I looked up to see Mr. Furley enthusiastically rambling on about some equation. Why do we have to study about X squared times Y squared? I mean you don't need math if you're going to be a master chef. Did Jamie Oliver study math? If I wanted to be an artist do I need math? Did Picasso have math? In my philosophical mood I decided to pen a letter to Mr. Mathematics.

Dear Mr. Mathematics, I really hope you would solve your own problems. I am tired of having to solve all your problems all the time! Why are you asking me to solve all your problems? I wish you would stop pressurizing me. I do have my own problems you know, like is Rafe going to ask me to be his girl or not? Well Mr. Mathematics if you will be so kind as to solve that one teeny weenie little problem for me, then I will solve all the problems in the text book. Do we have a deal?

The bell sounded indicating it was the first break, everybody was scrambling to the cafeteria. I stopped my letter to Mr. Mathematics, shoved everything into my bag and dashed to the cafeteria as well. Most of the tables were already occupied, and there he was with a few of his football mates. There wasn't an empty seat at their table even if I had the guts to go to his table.
My friends were at a nearby table and thank heavens April was there. She was leaning over her chair and flirting with Channing who was sitting next to Rafe. It must be my lucky day, because the one vacant chair would give Rafe and I perfect eye contact with each other. Hurriedly I dived into that chair, before anybody else could grab it.

'Hey,' I greeted everybody, smacking a high five with April.

'Hey stranger, long time,' April teased me.

'I know,' I wrinkled my nose and turned around to greet all the guys.

'Hey,' I smiled at all of them, but my eyes lingered longer at Rafe.

There was a chorus of greetings from everybody else, but I only had eyes for my Rafe, who gave me a dazzling smile, and winked at me.

OMG, I got a smile AND a wink, OMG!

'I'm trying to get Channing to take me to the mall, but he's not budging,' April pouted.

'I'll take you,' I offered.

'No offense,' April whispered, 'but I want my man with me,' she blushed.

'O__kaaay,' I grinned. I kept looking up at Rafe, and everytime I looked, he was staring right back at me.

'Hey Rafe,' Misty, one of my friends was flirting with him, 'wanna go bowling with us tonight,' she urged in that seductive voice I knew so well.

Stay away from my Rafe, damn you! He's MINE!

I glared threateningly at Rafe, he just smiled politely at Misty.

April started to tug at my arm, I was half listening to her as I was curiously studying Rafe busy with his mobile.

I was shocked when my cell vibrated. I looked at the screen and the text read, "take off your jacket."

My cheeks grew flushed, I'm sure my mouth dropped opened as well.  I could not believe what Rafe was asking me to do. I mean is he mad?
