Miles birthday. A day that is never thought or talked about, because it's a day that is never celebrated... Until today.

Thank God my alarm was loud enough today, so I wasn't in a rush to get anywhere. I'm sure dad is pleased.

I'm not gonna bore you with the getting ready for school schedule, so I'll skip ahead.

I went across the street (literally) and knocked on his door, and it swung open only five seconds later.

"Come on in." He said making his way upstairs.

"Umm," I said, while closing the door behind me "where's my hug?"

He stopped in his tracks, turned around, and sighed.

"Yes. I'm sorry, Annie. I have a lot on my mind."

He came back and hugged me. I'm satisfied.

"Like your birthday?" I said, with my head resting on his first set out of six pack.

"Exactly."

He pulled away and started again towards the steps. I followed.

"What is so wrong about your birthday? Morning, Mrs. Thomson!!" I shouted.

"Good morning, Bree!" She shouted back, from what sounded like the kitchen.

We ended up in his room, and I sat on his bed.

"I'm not always happy about my birthday, because my plans are always cancelled." He said.

"Well, I have a plan this year."

"And what is that?" He said while changing his top.

"I'm not telling you." I smiled.

"It's my birthday. I think I have a right to know. Look away."

I turned around and plopped my face in his oh-so-fluffy pillow as he changed out of his sweats and into his jeans.

"It's a surprise!" I said with my muffled voice.

"Well, I don't wanna go anywhere. You can look back now."

I plopped back around.

"You make things so hard!"

"I'm setting standards."

"No, you just don't want me around." I said pouting and folding my arms.

This is called my tantrum. I noticed him look away from his mirror to me.

"Oh no, Annie; that's not it at all." He said.

He walked over and stooped in front of me.

"Yes it is. You're tired of me. You want to move on. I understand, it's okay, Smiles; I can take a hint."

He sighed, and kissed my forehead.

"Do what you want, Annie."

He got up and went back to getting dressed. I smiled.

"Thank you." I said.

"Only cause it's you."

"It better be."

I won't bore you with what happened at school. Long story short, I went to all my classes, learned a bit and went home. Skipping to later.

9:00 at night, I was getting my jacket on; until I saw from the corner of my eye, dad.

"Where you going?" He said.
