CHAPTER FIFTY TWO: Attachment

I am sitting in front of my mirror and tapped my cheek for the third time.

What happened in that mini forest?

Was I dreaming back then?

Why did Byon kissed me? Wala namang dahilan para gawin nya yun. We don't need to pretend that time kasi kami lang namang dalawa yun nandun sa mini forest.

I look at my lips and touch it. The taste of that blissful kiss still lingers there. After he kissed me we stared at each other for couple of minutes. We were both surprised. Tatanungin ko sana why he kissed me but my sisters found us.

I look at my face again and noticed that I am blushing. My heart is still drumming inside my chest by just being reminded of that kiss. I opened my drawer and took out the Love Potion bottle.

"Ikaw ba ang may gagawan nun?" I ask the bottle.

I took a deep breath and put the bottle back inside the drawer. I have to cook breakfast already.

When I walk out of my room eksaktong lumabas din sa Byron sa kwarto nya. We look at each other. There was an awkward feeling in the air.

"Goodmorning." He greeted first breaking the silence.

"Goodmorning." I replied. "Hindi pa ako nakakapagluto ng breakfast. Do you want anything in particular?" I ask him.

"Kahit ano pwede na." He said then we both went downstairs to the kitchen.

There was that awkward silence again in the kitchen. Byron is reading the newspaper and I was frying the bacon but there are times that I can feel his eyes on me. I was putting the bacon on a plate when the doorbell rang.

"Sino kaya yan?" I ask Byron. Hindi naman siguro mga tatay namin ulit ang nasa labas. Byron stands up and went to answer the door. Pagbalik nya kasama na nya si Aly at Tirso.

"Goodmorning!" Aly greeted while waving her hand at me.

"I was driving inside the subdivision when I saw her walking kaya sinabay ko na." Tirso said.

"Salamat ulit." Aly said to Tirso then she gave him a flirtatious smile. Kung malapit lang sa akin itong Aly kanina ko pa sya kinurot.

"Maupo na kayo. Kakaluto pa lang ni Yanny ng agahan." Byron said as he sat down back to his chair.

"I also brought more food." Aly said as she happily sat beside me and placed a brown bag on the table.

We started eating.

"Nakwento sa akin ng mga kapatid mo na nag camping kayo kahapon. So how was it? May exciting ba na nangyari?" Aly said. Napatingin ako kay Byron and he is looking at me too. I think he is also thinking what I am thinking. I look down on my food again.

"Wala naman. Nilamig lang ako. Nawala kasi yung kumot at jacket namin ni Byron." I just replied.

"Talaga? Dapat nagpayakap ka na lang dito kay Byron." Tirso said tinignan tuloy sya ng masama ni Byron. "Joke lang." Biglang bawi ni Tirso. Aly giggles.

There goes my heart fluttering again. I remember waking up inside Byron's arms at the campsite. His body was so warm I just wanted yo stay there a little longer but my sisters called me so I forced myself to leave Byron sleeping alone in our tent.

"By the way yung classmate mo sa New York si Austin nag message sa akin and he said you should check your email kasi he sent something three days ago." Aly suddenly said.

Oo nga pala. It's been three days since I last checked my email. Ano kayang kailangan ni Austin sa akin?
