CHAPTER TWENTY: Licensed to Bully

I knock on her bedroom's door once again.

"I told you I am not coming with you on that party." Yanny shouted behind the door. She is such a stubborn woman!

"Everyone is expecting you to be there including my dad." I exclaimed.

"Magdahilan ka na lang tell him may sakit ako!"

Kinatok ko ng kinatok yung pinto. I won't accept no for an answer. Who wants to bring her anyways? Ayoko din naman but that was awhile ago. Everything changed after one of our potential imvestors called and said his wife is eager to meet Yanny. He said his wife loves Yanny's work. Ang tagal ko ng nililigawan ang kumpanya na yun to tie up with us kaya lang napakailap nila.

Now is my chance and I will not let her hard headedness ruin it!

"Will you please stop banging on the door!" Yanny shouted.

"Hindi ako titigil hangga't di ka lumalabas dyan!" I shouted back.

I heard footsteps coming my way and the door finally opened.

"Ang kulit mo naman Byron! I told you I won't go with you." Yanny said. Mukhang I really can't easily sway her.

"Give me one valid reason why you can't come with me."

"Because I am uncomfortable around people."Yanny said then she headed for the stairs. I followed her.

"Why?"

"Basta." she said. I grab her arm and I face her towards me.

"That's not enough reason Yanny. I need my wife there." I explained to her.

"Why do you need me?" she asks me.

Nagbuntong hininga ako. "Gusto kang makilala nung asawa ng isang investor na matagal ko ng nililigawan." I finally said it.

"Kaya naman pala." Yanny said habang tumatango tango. She turns her back and continued to walk. I followed her inside the kitchen.

She opens the fridge and took out the ice cream. After getting a spoon sinimulan nya nang kainin yung ice cream habang naka-Indian seat dun sa may upuan.

"What will I do para mapapayag ka? I will do anything! Damnit Yanny! I need that investment!" I said out of frustration.

She started thinking then she smiled. She looks at me.

"From now on you will do the dishes and help me with the groceries every Sunday." she said.

"What?!!!!" I exclaimed.

Tumaas yung kilay ni Yanny. "Is it a deal or no deal?" she asks me.

"Wala na bang ibang way para mapapayag ka?" I ask. Umiling si Yanny then she grins at me.

This girl is really something! Baka isang araw magulat na lang ako lahat na ng gawaing bahay ako na ang gumagawa.

"What's it gonna be Byron A-re-va-lo?" Yanny asks in a mocking tone. I took a deep breath.

"Fine! It's a deal." Mas mabuti na yun kesa sa hindi pumunta si Yanny. I badly need that investment.

"Okay. I will be there." she said then she left the kitchen.

I bang my head on the wall three times. How did I end up being like this?

Yanny suddenly peeks in so I straightened up.

"Paki hugasan na din yung kinainan ko ngayon." she said with a huge smile.

I look at the empty ice cream container and her spoon on the table.
