CHAPTER THIRTEEN: How to bargain with an Owl?

I am in a bad mood today. Who wouldn't be?! A man with an empty stomach is not a good combination.

Walang puso! That is the perfect way to describe Yanny. I had to satisfy my hunger yesterday by eating fast food while I watch her cook a decent meal only for herself!

She is going to be the cause of my death one of these days.

How can I live without someone to cook for me, do my laundry and iron my clothes?

This is horrible!

All the employees were staring at me as I wAlk towards my office.

"Good morning boss." Janine greeted me witb surprised expression. I just ignored her and closed the door behind me.

"O dude? Bakit ganyan itsura mo ngayon? Papasok ka ba?" Tirso asks.

I put down my things and then sat on my chair.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him.

"Ang mas dapat itanong dude ay kung bakit ganyan ang itsura mo?" Tirso said.

"I don't have an ironed suit." nahihiya kong sagot sa kanya.

"Bakit?" nagtatakang tanong ni Tirso.

"Because I can't iron my own clothes."

Humalagakpak ng tawa si Tirso. "Yanny is one mean wife." he said in between laughs. "Talagang seryoso kayo sa usapan nyo na walang pakialamanan ng buhay ha."

I rub my aching forehead. Getting married is such a nuisance. Napapaisip na tuloy ako kung mas magiging madali ang buhay ko sa piling ng mga kangkong.

"I am sure may mga laundry shop malapit sa inyo Byron doon ka na lang magpalaba." Tirso suggested.

Actually kanina ko pa din naisip yun kaya on my way to the office I scan the area around our house for a laundry shop and luckily I found one at may ironing services din sila.

"One year is quite long Byron. Sigurado ka bang hindi kayo madedevelop na dalawa ng asawa mo?"

I let out a laugh. "Nagpapatawa ka ba? Paano at bakit naman ako maiinlove sa babaeng yung mukhang napag iwanan na ng panahon? Mas maayos pa nga manamit Lola ko sa kanya."

"I don't know but nothing is impossible dude."

"Yes there is and that is me falling for her." I said to Tirso.

"Wag kang pakasigurado dude malay mo you will have a change of heart."

I laughed after hearing what Tirso said. "There is only one thing in this world that I am quite pretty sure about Tirso and that is I don't easily have a change of heart."

Yanny

"Can you please tilt your face a little more further to the right?" I said to the model. I have another shoot today at muntik pa akong ma-late because of my stupid husband.

I should have taken driving lessons before so I wouldn't be as helpless as this but because my dad was do overprotective lagi akong may kasamang driver before so I wasn't able to learn how to drive.

"So how was the honeymoon?" Tanong ni Aly sa akin while I was working. She is behind me and I am sure kanina pa nyang gustong magkwento ako about that cursed honeymoon of mine a few days ago. Thinking about it still makes me shudder. It was a total disaster! Muntik pa kaming mabuking nung Eugene dahil sa kalandian ni Byron!

"So did something happened?" She asks again ng hindi ako kumibo.

I sighed. She really wouldn't stop hanggang di ako sasagot.
