CHAPTER SIXTY EIGHT: Big Surprise

"Ma'am ito po one hundred percent cotton. Mas maganda po ito kay baby." The sales lady told me while showing me some baby clothes. I was in the hospital for a couple of days pero after my OB was sure na okay na ako she discharged me already and now nagshoshopping ako ng mga gamit ng bata.

"Yanny look! This looks cute." Eugene said when he appeared beside me.

"Naku sir opo cute din yan. Ano po bang gender mg baby nyo ni ma'am?" Sabat nung sales lady.

"No, he's not my husband." I immediately corrected. I just heard Eugene laugh habang nag aapologize yung sales lady sa amin.

After shopping we already drove back home.

I glance at Eugene while he was driving. Hindi pa nawawala yung mga ngiti sa labi nya. Ilang araw na syang nandito sa Baguio helping me out.

"Thank you for coming with me today." I said to him. He looks at me and his smile widened. "It's okay. Nag enjoy naman ako ng sobra. Diba little buddy? Nag enjoy ka din diba?" Eugene said while rubbing my tummy. Nailang ako bigla and he must have notice it kaya inalis nya agad yung kamay nya sa tiyan ko.

When we got home sinalubong agad kami nina Ate Tere and Ate Clau.

"How's the shopping?" Ate Clau asks as she helps me get out of the car.

"Yang si Yanny masyadong mapili sa damit." Eugene said while putting out the shopping bags on the back of the car.

"Ikaw nga itong masyadong maraming tanong dun sa sales lady." I said to Eugene. "Concern lang ako kay champ." He said with a huge smile.

My two sisters look at me with questioning eyes but I just ignored them.

"Nandyan pala si dad. Kanina pa nya kayo hinihintay." Ate Tere said then we all headed inside.

While we were having tea in the garden I watch as Eugene and dad talk on one corner. Mukhang tungkol na naman sa kumpanya ang pinag-uusapan nila.

"Bilib din ako dito kay Eugene." My Ate Tere said. I look at her and saw her looking at the two men too. "Napaka tiyaga kahit nabasted na. He really cares a lot for you and your baby Yanny."

I know kaya nagiguilty ako kasi napakabuti pa rin ng ipinapakita ni Eugene sa akin kahit nasaktan ko sya before.

"It looks like he will be a good father. Why don't you give him a chance?" Udyok ni Ate Tere sa akin.

"Ano ka ba ate? Di mo ba naririnig yang sinasabi mo?" My Ate Clau exclaimed.

"Alam mo Clau yang katakawan mo ang intindihin mo! Bumilibog ka na! Kung kumain ka daig mo pa si Yanny!" My Ate Tere hissed kaya natawa tuloy ako. My Ate Clau rolled her eyes at her.

"If naging korteng planeta ka iiwan ka ni Bernie hala ka." Dagdag pa ni Ate Tere.

"Bernie? Sino yun?" I ask. Ngayon ko lang narinig ang pangalan na yun. I noticed my Ate Clau blushing.

"He is my boyfriend. Kakilala sya ni Eugene. Four months na kami ngayon." Nahihiyang sagot ni Ate Clau sa akin.

"Four months?!!! Bakit di nyo agad sinabi sa akin na may boyfriend ka na pala Ate?" I said as I look at my sisters with disbelief.

"Kasi kahapon ko lang din nalaman. Kung di ko pa nahuli ang dalawa na naghahalikan sa may labas ng bahay natin di ko malalaman." My Ate Tere said as she looks at Ate Clau with narrowed eyes.

I hold Ate Clau's hand and I squeeze them "I am so happy for you ate. I hope I could meet him soon." I said to her. Kaya pala laging nakangiti si Ate Clau dahil in love sya. The last time I can remember smiling like that was when I was developing Byron's photos of me.
