Love Like You

A New Housemate

Y/N sighed, she was walking home and remembers what she had said to Jasper, she told her that she'd be back in less than an hour but she ended up staying out even logger than she expected. When getting her new kitten she remembered that he needed food and so Y/N ended up shopping for her new pet longer than she expected.

Y/N was now outside of her doorstep, and she signed, hoping that Jasper didn't tear up the house or anything else damaging. Personally, Y/N wouldn't blame Jasper, she had lied to Jasper. At the thought of Jasper, she suddenly thought, "what would her reaction be to the kitten?!" Y/N was sure that Jasper would be rough with him, even by accident...probably. But Y/N shook the thought out of her head and decided that she'd just have to teach Jasper to be nicer, it that was even possible...

Y/N reached for the doorknob but before she could open the door, it had already swung open quite quickly. Y/N gasped and saw the tall gem standing in the doorway, "You're back."

Y/N nodded, "How did you kno-" she was cut off by Jasper's angry yell.

"Why are you so late?" The orange gem seemed infuriated, but Y/N couldn't stand being yelled at.

"It's none of your business why I'm late," Y/N walked in with her chin up and she didn't dare look in Jasper's direction, she was sure that she was getting prepared to strangle Y/N now. "I was busier than I thought, but now I'm back and I actually have someone I want to introduce you to."

"I don't wanna meet anyone new..." Jasper pouted, but Y/N turned to Jasper and smiled a bit menacingly.

"Oh yes you do," she said. Jasper decided to shut up and just wait for Y/N to introduce this new "thing" to her, whatever it was. Y/N quickly put the food in the pantry and opened the fairly large box she brought with her, "okay, Jasper...this is my new pet!" Y/N opened the box and gently brought out a small tabby cat.

"What the hell is THAT?" Jasper asked, she looked disgusted.

Y/N gasped, offended that Jasper would refer to him in such a manner. "This CAT is our new housemate!"

"Whatever," Jasper got up and started to walk away, but Y/N grabbed hold of her.

"Oh no you don't, we need to pick a name out for him!" Y/N whined.

"A name?" Jasper looked at her, confused, "those things need a name?"

Y/N became offended once again, "of course Jasper! Now, do you have any ideas?"

"No," Jasper tried walking away again but she felt Y/N squeeze her hand gently, she saw Y/N look at her with sad, pleading eyes. Jasper sighed and thought to herself 'why does this human make me such a pushover?!' She walked to Y/N's aside and plopped down. "Okay...you got any ideas?"

Y/N smiled, "nope!"

"Are you kidding me?!" Jasper was exasperated, she put her face in the palms of her hands, humans are a pain in the ass.
