The interview with Mayor Dewey was a bit lengthy and exhausting for Y/N, his eccentric behavior had surprised Y/N a bit. When it finally ended Y/N was a bit more than just pleased, if anything, she was relieved. And when Josh invited her for a drink as he usually did after work, she gladly accepted.

~Le skip to the bar~

"So what've you been up to? I haven't seen you around as much as I used to," Josh inquired, "been holed up with your new lover?" He teased, pointing out Y/N's love bites once again.

"Shut it," Y/N's face grew dark red as she took a swig from her drink. He was always the teasing older brother that Y/N never had, thankfully, he never chased after her like the last make up artist who had quit because of...reasons. "I've been occupied with things at home and I'm hoping for things to turn for the better, ya know." Y/N said, her words were starting to slur.

"Yeah, yeah," Josh laughed, knowing that you became an overthinking, sad sod when you started getting drunk.

"I think we're both changing each other, I'm sure that I'm bringing out the good in them, but I don't know exactly how they're changing me..." Y/N tried to dig deep for an answer. "I love them a lot, but I'm afraid of them loving me back because I know I'll end up hurting them..." Y/N frowned.

"Oh c'mon, Y/N," Josh clapped her on the back, "you couldn't hurt a fly, even if you tried!"

"No...you don't understand Josh," a frown was engraved on Y/N's worried face, "I'll be forced to leave them, whether either of us want it or not, and I'm sure it'll just make them close up and turn back into their former selves...or an even worse version."

Jason sighed, he became a philosophical ass wipe when he was tipsy, "Y/N, what you should concentrate on is the present the two of you share together, and if you're forced to leave them, make sure you imprint your love on them and plan for a way to fill whatever holes you may leave in their heart. That way, when you're gone, they will know how to pick themselves up and carry on without you in a way that leaves them as the person you've changed them to be. If you love the, you should know the right way to treat them." He heard a sniffle and turned to see Y/N's eyes filled with tears, he started to panic until the woman attacked him with a bear hug.

"Josh, why can't you be this smart when you're sober!?" Y/N questioned as she rubbed her tears on his cheek, "thank you for comforting me!"

"Hey, calm down!" He patted Y/N's head, "C'mon, let's get you home-"

"Wait, I don't really wanna go home like this..." Y/N said, "let me stay at your place for tonight!"

"Alright, alright," Josh knew there would be no point in refusing, knowing all she would do is whip out her puppy eyes. He called for an uber and the two made it to his house safely, he gave her a set of clothes and as she showered he set the guest bedroom for her. After Y/N laid in bed she looked up at the ceiling, her head still full of worry as she drifted off to sleep.

'What are you going to do without me, Jasper? Would you be quick to forget and go back to your old ways? I'm only human, I can't stay with you forever... What will you do without me?'

Bit of a filler, but still important, especially for the next chapter!!

Lol, back from the dead! Honestly, sorry for not updating, I barely finished school last week and I've been stressing about finals so when I finally finished school I was like, 'I deserve a fucking break for once.' So yeah, I took a small break, but now I'm back.

But honestly, don't expect much from me because I'm going to probably start taking college classes and get a job this summer. Wish me luck~
