Y/N wiggled out of bed and went to the kitchen to make something for her, Jasper and Tiger to eat. She made sure to make Jasper's favorite food: bacon. Y/N was gone for nearly an entire 24 hours when she was helping out the Crystal Gems in getting prepared for Steven's birthday, leaving Jasper alone with Tiger for nearly and entire 24 hours. The gem was ice cold ever since Y/N came back, and it was 3 days ago, so Y/N decided to do a little kissing up (even though she hated it). Y/N was nearly done and as she set the table Jasper marched to a chair and slumped in it. "Good morning Jasper, how did you sleep?"

"Mmm," Jasper grunted, not looking at Y/N and helped herself to the food.

"Are you still angry?" Y/N asked, she put an hand on Jasper's arm, "Look, I apologized like a thousand times already! All I did was hang out with the Crystal Gem's for a bit and wished Steven a happy birthday!" Jasper grunted even louder this time, and twitched with anticipation when she heard "Crystal Gems".

"That's the thing," Jasper said, in her low raspy voice, "You were hanging out with those traitors!"

"What are you talking about Jasper? They're my friends!" Y/N exclaimed.

"They betrayed my own kind so they can help the likes of you pathetic humans!" Jasper yelled angrily, "We were going to make use of the hunk of rock, but instead it was wasted on you useless life forms!" As soon as the words left her mouth Jasper immediately regretted it, but surprisingly she saw Y/N's face full of sadness, instead of the rage she had expected.

"You haven't been on Earth long enough to know if it's truly a useless place, there are things on this planet worth protecting, but I just guess you haven't found it yet." Y/N took her hand from Jasper's arm and turned to the sink and quietly washed the dishes, as soon as she was done she walked to her room and closed the door behind her.

'Oh my fucking stars, why the hell do all of the wrong things come out of  my mouth?' Jasper thought frustratedly.

Y/N laid on her bed, thinking of the harsh words Jasper had said, she had known the Crystal Gems for quite a while. In fact, she had known them ever since she was in high school, Y/N remembered how she met them.

~flashback~

Y/N ran, she ran like there was no tomorrow, right on her heels was Nash, her ex. He was furious that he had not gotten what he wanted from her: sex. She refused over and over, and thought that somehow she could still work out their relationship, but she couldn't. So Y/N ran, she was nearing a fence that was on the bay, without thinking she quickly scaled it and ran further until she saw a cave and entered it. But she was surprised to see that it was occupied by a giant woman with long, curly, pink hair, a small, pale, skinny girl with a large gem on her forehead, a rather mysterious woman with an afro, and a cute purple child with short white hair. The woman with pink hair turned to face Y/N and the human stumbled back, landing on her butt. "Well hello there," the woman said warmly, "what brings you here?" Y/N could barely speak, she was still trying to catch her breath.

"I-I-" before Y/N could form a sentence she heard her name being called out by Nash, fear filled her eyes and she turned to the giant woman, "help me," Y/N pleaded. Nash entered the cave and scanned it, looking for Y/N, he tried to walk towards her but was quickly stopped.

"Don't touch her," the woman ordered, he stopped walking and looked at the tall woman.

"This doesn't involve you-" he started.

"When I see a human in distress it does involve me," the giant woman said, looking down at him, "Garnet, would you kindly show this human out?" The mysterious, afro woman grasped Nash's arm and dragged him away. "Are you alright?" The pink haired woman asked, offering a hand to Y/N.

"Yes, thank you very much," Y/N thanked her graciously, and grabbed the beautiful woman's hand.

~end of flashback~

After Y/N's first encounter with the gems she came back more and more, bumping into Greg every once in a while. But after Rose left Y/N's visits were rare, but as Steven grew older Y/N started returning again. The human remembered what Rose had taught her, it was Rose who taught Y/N how valuable the Earth is. 'Rose taught me so much,' Y/N thought. Y/N looked out of her window, the only reason why Y/N chose the humble home she lived in was for her window, it was a wide window that captured every sunset perfectly and the lighthouse was also in view. 'I think I'll go to the lighthouse...' Y/N thought, after changing her clothes Y/N equipped herself with her phone and wallet then leapt out of her open window (it's a one story house, calm urself). The human wanted to avoid encountering Jasper at all costs, if another bad word about the earth came from that gems mouth Y/N might cry. 'I really do hope that gem will be able to find something worth protecting on this Earth one day...'
