Throughout the night I tossed and turned with dreams of Alec. Which made it really hard to get up in the morning for school, however, at the smell of bacon, I managed. I made my way downstairs to the kitchen where James was on the phone in a heated conversation. Liz was at the stove watching her husband but still paying attention to the food cooking. She noticed me walk in and a bright smile lit up her face.
"Good morning! We're making breakfast for you guys before school if that's alright with you," she said in a very chipper voice. How could I turn down an invitation to breakfast with an attitude like that. I took a seat at the island and waited for her to set out a plate for me.
"I'm telling you Michael, this needs to stop. The press coverage will do nothing for us but cause problems. We're supposed to stay low key and out of the public eye! Who authorized this?!" James didn't seem too happy. After a few more moments, he hung up and let out an exasperated sigh and rubbed his face.

"Damn press are always getting things out of line. If we can't get this off our backs by this weekend, I don't know what we're going to do."

"What exactly is going on?" I asked, the attention from James turning to me.

"There has been a trail attached to the boundaries of this territory by the rogues and neighboring packs. But also by people outside of these towns -kids in particular- that are becoming more curious about the boundaries. Kids were seen taking pictures of a training happening at one of the outposts. The story ended up in the newspaper and now we have to deal with the press trying to get past out borders," James was fuming by the time he finished his rant and I could understand why.

"I thought that the boundaries were more closely guarded than that. How did those kids even get close enough to take pictures?"

"They didn't. The pictures are blurry and undefinable. That's why the press is causing a problem about it, because they want answers," James replied.

"Well they won't be getting any," A deep voice suddenly spoke from the door.

I jumped and turned around to see Alec leaning on the door frame, arms crossed, clearly not amused about the news. It was a shock seeing him here after last night, and a light blush made its way onto my cheeks at the thought. Alec caught my eye and gave me a discrete wink that made a smile break onto my face.

"Those damn reporters won't be hearing a word from us on the matter. We've spent too long putting ourselves into hiding for some dumb kids to ruin it. This place is too far away from normal people for those kids to have found us that easily. I fear there's something else going on behind closed doors, something to do with the rouges. But let's just keep that between us for now, shall we? We don't need to alarm anyone to a threat that may not be there," Alec said, looking to James for confirmation.

James simply nodded to Alec in understanding before kissing Liz on the cheek and grabbing his things for work. "I'll see you at the meeting later today, Sir. Barnes seems to have information on training ideas from Youtube that he thinks we should use," James said with an eye roll.

Alec chuckled, "We'll see how that goes."

And with that, James left. Leaving an awkward silence between Liz, Alec, and I. However suddenly, Liz stood up and made her exit from the room with the excuse of "excessive laundry to take care of". I started on the breakfast she had made me, noticing Alec still standing by the door.

"You know you're allowed to sit down, right?" I said laughing lightly.

He smirked and took a seat next to me, watching as I ate the slightly burnt toast Liz had made. It was a comfortable silence between us that didn't really end until Liz passed through again, making her visit brief and she grabbed a couple towels from the stove. Once she was gone from the room, Alec turned to me again.
