Chapter 10: Burning engulfed me

Tanner’s P.O.V

As me and the pack stood there across from the house my love was being held against her will, I just wanted to run in and capture her. But if there were four of them just to capture her there had to be more protecting the house right? In a way I didn’t care but I needed to ensure my packs safety as well as hers. I was sure the pack understood my thoughts as I made them clear to everyone.
It was finally decided we’d camp in the woods where the house was still in complete sight and have the rest of the pack minus Javien and the doctors, join us in dawn of the morning no later. I was sure there weren’t that many pure blood vampires in the world so there was almost no way all the vamps inside were purebloods which would mean we’d have some sort of an advantage during day light.
I wondered what they had done to her or what they were doing I hadn’t heard any loudness coming from the house so either she was okay, asleep or dead. I hated even thinking about the last part but she was surrounded by vamps anything could truly happen. I thought what if she went with them agreed to it with no problem. What if she wanted to be here? I hope to god not. I knew she felt something for me and we were becoming closer and nothing or no one could tell me otherwise.
I remember the first time I had saw her, it was as if nothing around me mattered anymore I sat in silence for 15 minutes Quien said. He tried talking to me but I never answered or acknowledged him. Truthfully I had never even heard him nor did I want to she was walking out of the school the same time we were walking out of the forest.
I stopped dead in my tracks she wore a flowery blue and white short summer dress and the wind blew her hair up and it swirled around for milliseconds before I caught her scent. I inhaled as many times as I could before the scent quickly disappeared and I wished for it to come back in.
From that day on I followed her and watched her taking in her beauty it wasn’t till the first time I followed her home it became clear how much danger my mate was truly in when not in my arms. She didn’t even know me yet and I already loved her and would do anything to protect her.
Her parents acted so normal around her it drove me crazy I wanted to run in and take her away and leave them torn in pieces in the process and as many times as I stopped myself and I slowly calmed down as weeks and months passed. After seeing Tarrence months later and knowing what he was there for, I couldn’t stop myself doing exactly what I had wanted to do before at the next chance I had gotten.
Too bad that chance had given him weeks with her and I could see she was falling for his trap and it killed me inside to see her develop feelings for him when they should have been for me. When the plan was finally fully figured out I took Quien and Javien with me and we destroyed her parents as silently as we possibly could before I went to retrieve her. I thought about whether she’d understand or forgive me or even give me a chance but I knew it was worth it.
When I walked in her room to see her all curled into a ball I wanted to snuggle up next to her and sleep together but I knew I couldn’t I gave her a sleeping med quickly and picked her up baby style to my car. Quien said the safest and best bet was the trunk and as much as I wanted to argue with him I knew he was right. He was always the one with the brains and always knowing what to do; he was one pack member I actually looked up to.
