Chapter 13

-------------------------------

Brock's P.O.V

~Dream~

I was holding my mother's hand while entering the well known academy walls. Recently my mother was taking me here everyday, instead of three times a week. She said something with me starting my training, since I've already have finished my prep-training. My friends Bryan and Garrett have also finished the same thing at the time as me. We were currently the youngest spies in training entering the teen class.

I let go of my mom's hand and ran towards Bryan and Garrett, who were standing near the door of our new class room.

"Hey, guys what's up" I said

"Nothing, we were just waiting for the teacher to show up" Garrett answered

"Yeah, and the weird thing is that were the only ones here right now" Bryan said "Did we get the time wrong"

"Nahh my mom said that we should just come early, since were shorter and we'll get run over by the taller teens" I said

"WHAT! I'm not short" Both of them said

"Yeah well were not tall either" I said back at them

"Whatever I'm not short" Garrett said still not accepting the fact that he was

"Brock, Bryan, Garrett come here and meet my friend" My mom said "This is Sydney Cross, and this is her daughter"

She was standing next to a woman who was apparently taller than my mother. The little girl beside her must have been her daughter, she looked to be about 7 years old. I was shocked when I saw her turn around to face me and the guys. I looked at their faces and they held the same expressions as me.

She black hair that seemed like silk as it cascaded down to her shoulders, they match well with her eyes that were filled with mystery; the color of midnight. Blue yet dark. It looked as if she was staring into my soul as she looked into my eyes and the other guys as well. They were both captivated with her stare as I was. I felt a sudden urge of jealously rising through me.

I looked up to see my mom looking at us with a small smirk on her face, as well as the Mrs. Cross . "Oh my, I guess your little daughter can get these boys wrapped up in her little finger sooner than I thought." My mom said

"Your right, seems like her father has to start a little more early with the protectiveness" Mrs. Cross said. She looked down at her daughter with loving eyes that showed she cared for her a lot.

"Mommy why are they all staring, it's really not a good impression" Said the girl "I'm 6 and a half, I'll be seven one month" she said hold up her index finger to indicate the number 1. I couldn't hold in my smile, nether could Bryan and Garrett, also my mom and her mom. The way she said it looked adorable and innocent the way her looks describe.

"What's your name"? I asked Bryan and Garrett seemed to be curious as well and we all were anticipating her answer, wondering if it matched her.

"You guys can call me Ria" She said "Since we'll all be friends soon anyways". She gave us a cheeky smile that glowed with light. I couldn't lie to my eight year old mind, I was truly in love with her at first sight, and I couldn't even bare to not see her for a day.

"So Brock you mind getting your feet off the coach" Ria said, wait what. The voice was different it was more in the high note, than her regular voice. what the heck? I slowly opened my eyes to see Kaylie and Aria looking at me from above.

"Hey what do you want"? I said trying to sit up "You can't wake a person up from their beauty sleep" I was rubbing my eyes, still thinking about Ria and the dream of our first meeting. I knew that the rest of the guys had feelings for as well, but when we found out that Ria and her parents died, it basically devastated us. We wouldn't go back to the academy for two weeks, and we hardly ate. My parents were also deeply depressed when they heard that their friends had died, and even more when they knew about Ria.

Everyone in the academy were so depressed that from what I heard people stopped showing up for training. The people in the academy had looked up to Ria's parents, because they were legends of being the best. Her mom was the best hacker, concerning technology or just secret codes; she would figure it out in a snap. Ria dad was well known for his combat and weaponry. They also found Ria as the bottle of sunshine that helps any ones day. Everyone in the academy were attached to her. Even Rick who was known to be the poker face and serious guy who doesn't make a joke out of anything, was affected by Ria. We were surprised when he made jokes and funny nosies just to get Ria laughing and to everyone it was certainly worth the humiliation but in it. That's what he told Bryan, Garrett, and me when we came to the academy and sat with us to talk about it.

When we did, all three of us started to shed the tears of Ria and missing her smile, laughter, and energy. It was gone. But Rick told us that she wasn't. She was still here, watching everyone at the academy. That was part of the reason why I didn't show up at the academy at all after the news. That place just showed too many memories of Ria and I couldn't take it then to remember them all. But Rick said it was okay to be sad and cry, cause he told us what Ria said to him when she first encountered him. "You don't have to have a face of steel forever, because your a spy. Then you can't be who you are truly inside. You can show emotion and face the world like a man after that". Rick told us that when Ria said it; she was actually shedding tears, because he wouldn't' look at her with any emotion and apparently that made her sad. It effected him so much that he started to laugh and smile along with her. She was our goddess.

"Helloooo, anyone in there"? Aria was waving her hand in my face looking directly into my eyes. It wasn't until she started shaking my shoulders; I knew that she was on her knees standing at the same eye level as me. I noticed then that we were suddenly super close and strangely like any normal girl, she wasn't affected by it at all. Of course she isn't, I can't be amazed enough by her. I looked into her eyes and couldn't help but feel a bit of recognition in them. I started to frown trying to think where I've seen those eyes before. God I know that I have seen them but where? Those midnight blue eyes.

"Hey, Brock, dude you okay"? Aria asked I look at her one more time and I can see her staring at me with a concerning look. Her where captivating me as she was looking start into my eyes. I felt like she was looking through them and into my soul. GOD WHERE HAVE I SEEN HER BEFORE!!!

"Hey Kaylie, Brock's acting pretty weird does he do this all the time after he's taken a nap"? She asked.

"No, here move your head a little" Kaylie said.

"Ow" I yelled as Kaylie threw a can at my face "God Kaylie what the hell were you doing"

"Well, Aria was freaking out since all you were doing was admiring her" Kaylie replied with a smirk spread out on her face.

"I-I wasn't a-admiring her" I stuttered. Way to go Brock I thought to myself.

"Sure, yeah right"

"It's alright to be embarrassed Brock" Aria said "Just show your emotion and then face the world like a man".

I stared wide-eyed at Aria. That's it, I knew who she remind me of.

Ria.
