The Prom

Flashback: 12 years ago

Bamboo was speechless. He never expected Asher looking so hot and beautiful at her age. The last picture of her in his mind was the girl who sang a Celine Dion song during his and Luis's graduation party. And now she's only 16 but she's looking like a very full grown young woman in his eyes. He just can't imagine seing her in that fitted body shaping red gown. And she's not wearing eyeglasses. He noticed how lovely her eyes were. Get hold of yourself man. She's Asher, she's like your sister remember. He keeps telling himself.

" Oh hijo, asan na yung corsage na dala natin.? Ay parang di bagay lagyan yang gown ni Asher, huag nalang." .. Bamboo's was awakened by his mom's voice in the background. He didn't even notice them going down too. He was so focused on Asher.

Meanwhile Asher is getting conscious with the way Bamboo is looking at her. She can't decipher what he is thinking. He seemed shocked but she can't tell if shocked in a good kind of way or not. She noticed though na panay ang iling nito so she thought he's not liking what he's seing at napipilitan lang ito to accompany her.

" Thanks for doing this Kuya Francisco. I know malaking abala, you might have some place to go yourself, you can just drop me off sa ballroom and go. I can just get a ride with my friends later." Asher said while Bamboo is driving quietly his dad's Black BMW 2door car.

" No it's okay Asher. I'm staying with you  at the party. And don't worry I don't have anywhere to go. I'm perfectly fine where I am right now. He said in his mind. What are you thinking man. He told himself.

There were silence in the car. Asher noticed that Bamboo is a little uneasy. So mas lalo nyang naisip na he's really not happy going with her, sabagay he's older na and he's already making a name for himself as a singer baka it's not good for his ego she thought.

" Seriously kuya Francisco, you can just drop me off. Don't worry, it's okay. I have friends naman at the party eh. You can go after dropping me off." Asher said without looking at Bamboo

Bamboo took a glance at Asher. He's wondering bakit ayaw ata syang makasama nito. He suddenly felt a pang of jealousy when he realized na baka she's already seing someone at school and that she wanted to spend time with him. Hey man.. get a grip.. you know it's not possible. He keeps telling himself.

" Are you going to meet someone at the party that's why you want to get rid of me?" Bamboo said in a joking manner but Asher was frowning when she looked at him.

" Of course not. I'm just thinking that you may not  enjoy this party. I'm just saving your night."  Asher said in an assertive way. Natawa si Bamboo with what she said.

" Oh don't worry about it dear. I'm gonna be good, in fact I think I'm going to have a good night." Bamboo said meaningfully and looks at Asher then back at the road.

Asher blushes with what she heard and when their eyes locked when he took a glance at her. Napahiya sya because he caught her looking at him. Kasi naman Asher eh, stop looking at him at ng hindi ka nahuhuli na tumitingin. She keeps telling herself. She cant just stop admiring him. He's not that handsome if you'll base it on standards but she doesn't know why she likes him. She's kilig at him. She finds him attractive. For a 16 years old high school girl she finds him really hot, but she knows she can't like him. Well he doesn't like kids Asher.. she told herself. You're not his type of girl remember...she keeps reminding herself.

Another silence envelope the moment.

" So, what are you planning to take up in college?" .. Bamboo
