Unexpected

I Belong to you

Bamboo is sitting his back on the headboard of Asher's bed. She's sitting beside him her head resting on his shoulder.

Both of them just silent at the moment. Until Bamboo started to talk.

" Are you not hungry yet? I can reheat the food so we can eat now."

" Can we stay here for a moment? I love this, leaning my head on your shoulder. I never had a chance to do it before."

" Well, I love the feeling of you leaning on me like that too. And you're right, we never really had this before."

Both were silent again after. No one knows exactly what or how to start a conversation. They used to have so much to say before, well when they argue but now, no one was talking. Bamboo took her left  hand and intertwined with his right.

" Does your work always require that much time from you? Or is it just because you're one of the boss?" Bamboo started, he needs to start the conversation going.

" Well, even in NYC I've been this busy, the only difference now is I'm part owner of the company. But it doesn't mean I can just relax and do nothing, now the more I have to work harder."

" But you seldom have extra time. You still have to go visit sites sometimes, you skip meals, and stay late. You don't have much time for me." Asher knows where the conversation is going. She knows it will come to this, she can tell from their previous phone calls that time will be an issue soon and that soon is presenting itself as early as now.

" Well, says someone who's always busy too. Ikaw din naman ah, you have a full schedule."

" We've said yes to those several months ago. Some even a year ago. But I asked Pancho to limit the next ones so I'll have some extra time to spend with you."

" Same with me. I said yes to this job even before there's an US. It was choice between going to Europe or here for me. I chose this company kasi it's our family's but you're not in the equation that time when I did the decision. I have a responsibility to the company."

" So, you did considered going to Europe?"

" Yeah, I did. I thought it will be better, mas malayo mas okay, but I don't know. I guess family matters more, kasi when Tito Gaudencio and Dad sat me down to talk about their plans, naisip ko din why not help kuya Luis na rin."

" So, it's not para mapalapit ka sa akin dito?" Bamboo said jokingly and it earned him a pinch in the side.

" Ay ang lakas lang po ng bilib sa sarili. Of course not. It was really for the company . At saka it was supposed to be my way of moving on from you, kaso ang kulit mo, hindi mo na ako nilubayan." Asher said while laughing.

Upon hearing what she said Bamboo looks at her with questioning eyes.

" You want to move on from me? Why?I remembered telling you I'm in love with you you the last time we talked in your hotel room sa Sanfo and you want to move on from me?" He's suddenly serious.

" After you left that night, tapos hindi ka nagparamdam, I thought wala na tayo chance. Kaya I was surprised when you picked me up sa airport and you started doing things for me, like bringing me breakfast, cooking lunch, etc."
