The tiny rock that Uncle Sam put before us was oval in shape and had writings all over it.
Even though the stone appeared to be smooth the writings on it were slightly raised and slightly smoothened.
The writings appeared to be runes of some kind.
Now for those who do not know what runes are:
1. Any of the characters of certain ancient alphabets, as of a script used for writing the Germanic languages, especially of Scandinavia and Britain, from c200 to c1200, or a script used for inscriptions in a Turkic language of the 6th to 8th centuries from the area near the Orkhon River in Mongolia.
2. Something written or inscribed in such characters.
3. An aphorism, poem, or saying with mystical meaning or for use in casting a spell.
[Take the one you like or all of the above]
As soon as I saw the Tiny Lwanda there are a few things that went through my mind very fast:
1. "What does the rock do?"
2. "It must be mystical!"
3. "Can anyone read the writing?"
I guess I was not thinking silently for my uncle answered the question thus:
1. "The rock is a means of travel from one realm to another."
2. Indeed it is mystical."
3. Yes, I can read it."
"Uncle Sam, how can you read such a rock? The writings do not appear to be in English or any other language we know," I asked to which he answered, "I was taught how to read it and how to travel - but that is a story for another day."
My uncle then explained that as long as we held hands with the person who possessed the Tiny Lwanda as he read the runes we would all travel to the new realm.
