Finally, we heard the long awaited knock! It came right after we had finished eating breakfast and were seated in the sitting room watching cartoon.
Being a Saturday, there was definitely no school and I kept this for last, we were on holiday and therefore, no school period.
"Uncle Sam, Uncle Sam!", we shouted exuberantly as we ran for the door. We heard mom call out, " Hey! Not so fast!" This entered one ear and escaped through the other as we continued to run till we opened the door.
There was our uncle, finally!
He walked into the house after greeting us and, of course, giving us our treats.
That morning we had a lovely time which was only cut short by mum calling us for lunch.
Mum had prepared something nice and after she said the grace we fell to it heartily.
After lunch we sat doing our things as mom and uncle spoke.
Later when dad arrived they spoke shortly with mum then we were called by mom.
"Kids, I want you to prepare your clothes for tomorrow you will go with your uncle and will spend two weeks of your holidays at your uncle's place", said mom.
We were over the moon with excitement. In all these years that uncle came over we had never visited him.
That night as I slept the dreams were full of far away places, of great adventures and of magical creatures.
The next morning I woke up well before the normal holiday hours - well in fact even well before the normal hours I wake up when going to school.
