Chapter Eighteen: Subterrea Part 2

We found ourselves in a darker world, with freaking no birds!

In the distance we saw some sort of a forest (if you would call the intertwined weird looking trees that).

One of the soldiers was introduced to us by the Commanders as a tracker.

The tracker informed us that there were a lot of tracks leading towards the forest like thing.

Uncle then sent two of the jet-bikes with four soldiers to fly ahead to see if there were any enemies nearby. They quickly moved towards the "forest."

We then ordered the troops to match slowly forward towards the forest as well.

One of the jet-bikes came back and we were informed that there were no enemies in sight. They also informed us that the forest stretched far even to the furthest horizon but they also stated that they had seen what seemed to be a path.

When we reached the path uncle called me aside and told me that I needed to take my troops and move to the left side of the forest to see if there were any other openings and also so that if my uncle was caught or defeated at least part of the army could survive.

We immediately started moving to the left side and when I looked back I noted one of the two remaining Commanders had been sent with half of the troops  my uncle had, to the right side to do what I was doing and so each one of us had a third of the troops.

We moved on until it was too dark to see anything and believe you me the nights here had no comparison - it was darkness that could nearly be felt. We therefore quickly made camp and had our supper before sleeping.

After many days and pitch darknesses of walking we finally found an opening into this dense forest. From above my soldiers could not see anything as it was too intertwined and thick. By this time we could no longer see any of the other troops (my uncle's or even the other commander's).

We moved inside and after a few more days we saw something ahead of us. It looked like one of the creatures that took my sister but it was actually, slightly smaller and nearer in height to us.

One of the soldiers shouted friend or foe and the creature shouted back to us in a foreign tongue. To my surprise one of the soldiers was an interpreter and informed me the creature did not understand us and was asking the same. I asked him if he was part of the force that took my sister and after the interpreter spoke to the creature, he interpreted and said, "No, they are not the ones, but, they knew who we were talking about and if we could follow them, they would tell us who they were.

I took 50,000 soldiers and left the rest together with the fighter jets, tanks and all the jet-bikes with the commander and asked him to wait outside the forest for us and should we not come back in three days, they would have to come looking for us.
