[Rose's Story]

I had been in this prison for a while now. For how long I could not tell. The only company I had was the darkness and the occasional sounds of misery coming from what I assumed were other cells (or should I say dungeons?) I only saw some light whenever they opened the door to give me some food - which tasted different from the earthly food but seemed to be good enough.

I assumed that this food was given to me because they actually needed me alive.

I also assumed that they were keeping me alone because I was the only one from earth. From the little that I had seen earlier, besides the ones that had been taken with us on the day we were flying, there were others who seemed to have been from other planets; different planets.

As I thought about these things and my mind was racing the door started opening! I found this strange as from my calculations it wasn't feeding time.

The door opened further and I saw them throw a man inside but I only saw his back and I could not make out the features of his face. From the little I could see - he seemed to be hurt.

From my deduction I reasoned that this had to be someone from my planet and so I moved closer and said, "Hi, are you okay?" There was no response. I went nearer took a hold of him and shook him gently - he finally woke up. "Who are you and how did you find yourself in this God forsaken planet and into this dungeon?" I asked. His response returned some sliver of hope into my long downtrodden heart, "Rose, you don't know your uncle Sam?"
