I remember the first time I noticed Uncle Sam; even at a younger age I noted that he was a bit different from the rest.
Unlike the other relatives who visited us on regular intervals; Uncle Sam would disappear for long periods of time then he would be there as if he had always been there.
During the disappearances we missed him dearly but when he appeared he would come with such wonderful tales of fantastic worlds that would blow our minds.
The stories were so picturesque that we could literally see the world through his eyes and even possibly taste the food he described.
Indeed the stories were fantastic and even though mom enjoyed listening in once in a while he would always come back to us and try to keep our feet in this current world (she kept us sooo firmly rooted).
The older I grew the more I started doubting whether they were true but I still loved my uncle more than anyone (with a few exceptions) and so did my sister.
Whenever he appeared he would create such wonderful games that we always ended up wishing and hoping he would stay forever.
I imagined him also just a bit eccentric but none the less so so jolly and wonderful to be around.
Let me just describe his features; a bit tall (around six feet - and I am good at approximating), a bit fat~ish but very agile, in his early forties and seemed to be intelligent.
All that was my uncle but enough about my uncle lets move on with the story.
