Chapter 10
"So, a Crystalline solid is one that has an ordered atom structure and a fixed-" Mr.Evers, the physics teacher, frowned. "Darcy Parker, why are you having conversation during my lesson?"
Darcy turned away from me and glared at the teacher. I really liked Mr.Evers, as much as I could like a teacher anyway. He had just graduated college and actually knew how to keep people from falling asleep in his class. This usually involved throwing random stuff at them but, hey, whatever works. Darcy on the other hand couldn't stand Mr.Evers. She had told me earlier that he had graduated high school with her older brother, Tom. Apperantly they did not get along. At all.
"I think the better question, Mr.Evers, is why are you having a lesson during my conversation?"
"Fine. Darcy, come up to the board and solve this," Mr.Evers pointed to a complex math problem that he had written on the Smart Board a few minutes ago.
"No thanks. I'm fine right here," Darcy smirked and leaned back even farther in her chair.
"Darcy. Now," Mr.Evers pointed to the board again.
"But it's soooo far away! And it would require me actually moving!" Darcy whined.
"Darcy, either get up here or go stand out in the hall!" By now he was really, really pissed.
"Make me."
Mr.Evers stomped over to Darcy and grabbed onto the back of her desk. He dragged it across the classroom, past all the students that were staring in shock at the two of them. He slammed the door open and dragged the desk outside. At the last second Darcy leaped out of her seat and slammed the door closed. She grinned evily and locked the door.
Ths was bad. This was so very, very, very bad. Darcy had just locked the teacher out of the classroom! What the heck was she thinking! We're all so screwed! We are so, so, so motherfreaking screwed.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING DARCY?" Mr.Evers started to beat on the door. "OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!"
Darcy leaned torwards the window in the door and cupped her hand around her ear. "WHAT DID YOU SAY? I CAN'T HEAR YOU THROUGH THIS DOOR!" She laughed and walked to the podium in the front of the room. "Hello pesants. I'm teaching this class now," she smiled and pointed to the ground. "BOW BEFORE YOUR PRINCESS!"
I looked around anxiously. Everyone looked pretty scared, and some actually bowed down. Dax stood up and began to creep across the room towards the locked door.
"SIT DOWN YOU FILTHY PEASENT!" Darcy yelled and Dax immeaditly sat back down in his seat.
"Now class, we are going to learn something thats actually useful," Darcy said over the sound of Mr.Magnus pounding on the door. She pulled up a screen on the Smart Board and started to type. "The first thing you need to know is that you are all peasents. Except Lori, I like Lori. The second thing you need to know is that I am the princess. Third, Eleanor is the king and Louis is the queen. I rule for them though, so you have to do what I say." She pulled up a picture of the queen and king as she said this.
A boy towards the back raised his hand."Why is Eleanor the king? Isn't she a girl?"
"Here we go again," Dax whispered right as Darcy launched into a long rant about why Eleanor was King. She didn't stop unti the intercom buzzed.
"Mr.Evers, we heard a commotion down towards your class room. Is everything all right." The lady on the intercom asked.
"Everything is fine," Darcy said.
"Oh, that's good to hear!" The lady said cheerfully. "Where is Mr.Evers though?"
"He's um... showing us how the door is a solid object," Darcy said slowly.
