Chapter 14

"Kaylee Madeline Salvia! You're telling us what happened last night!" Darcy demanded.

After Kaylee and Dax came in last night, Kaylee had gone straight to bed without answering any of Darcy's or my questions. Darcy and I both left before she woke up, she slept in until two, so we haven't had a chance to get any information out of her until now. I invited Darcy and Kaylee over for dinner, since Kal and Dax had a movie they wanted to see, and now we were all sitting in my room.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Kaylee shrugged and looked at the ground. "Nothing happened last- OWWWW!" Kaylee grabbed her head and glared at Darcy, who had just hit Kaylee with my sketchbook.

"Talk. Now," Darcy demanded again.

"Fine," Kaylee sighed and started to hug one of my pillows. "Its probably not as exciting as you think. When Dax came to get me he wouldn't tell me anything. He just lead me into the back porch yard and told me that he never got to give me the dance that he owed me."

"What dance?" I asked.

"Oh, uh, yeah. That would be my fault. I made a bet with Dax that I could finish a liter of coke before he could. I won and I told him that he had to dance with Kay at the next dance," Darcy explained.

She noticed the looks Kaylee and I were giving her and blushed, "What? Its not like he had anything I wanted, and you've done plenty of things for me in the past. I didn't think he'd actually do it, though, especially since we left the dance early."

"THANK YOU!" Kaylee threw the pillow down and tackled Darcy in a hug.

"A-air!" Darcy gasped and grabbed for me, "L-Lori h-help me!"

I grabbed her hand and pulled, trying to pull her out from under Kaylee, "Kaylee let go!"

"NEVER! SHE'S MINE!" Kaylee screamed and did her best imitation of an evil laugh.

"NOOOO! LORI, SAVE ME!" Darcy pleaded.

I let go of Darcy's hand and grabbed the pillow that Kaylee had thrown.

"I'LL SAVE YOU DARCY!" I screamed as I hit Kaylee with the pillow.

"NOOOOO!" Kaylee screamed and placed her hand over her heart dramatically. "PLEASE HAVE MERCY!"

"NEVER!" I hit her with the pillow again. Kaylee let Darcy go before grabbing her heart and collapsing dramatically onto my bed.

"IM FREE! THANK GAWD!" Darcy jumped down from the bed. "I couldn't breath Kay!"

"Sorry," Kaylee grimaced and then suddenly smiled as she said,"I figured out what kind of pet I want!"

"Oh no. Not this again," Darcy said under her breath as we sat down beside Kaylee.

I shot her a confused look and then asked Kaylee, "What kind of pet is that?"

Darcy looked at me like I had just signed my own death warrant. Kaylee, on the other hand, looked delighted.

"I want a girl German Shepherd puppy with brown and black markings, but mostly brown, with a little bit of white. She will have deep coffee brown eyes and a really pink tongue. She will be the sweetest, cutest, most adorable puppy in the world!" Kaylee'a grin grew even wider.

"What's her name going to be?" I asked and Darcy facepalmed.

"Mr. Snuggles Boo Bear!" Kaylee exclaimed and clapped her hands together.

Darcy was the first to break the silence, "I thought that you said that the dog was gonna be a girl."

"She is!" Kaylee looked confused.
