Four years later

"I guess we have covered everything. From foods, logistics, medicines and entertainment." Janet narrowed her eyes habang pinapasadahan ng mata nito ang hawak niyang papel.

"Thank Janet, I'm really grateful of your help. You know how busy my schedule are, pero gusto ko pa ring personal na asikasuhin ang selebrasyon sa Biyernes imbes na ipagawa ito sa iba, at hindi ko matatapos ito kung hindi sa tulong mo." sinsero na pasalamat ko sa kanya.

"Ano ka ba Alex! Hindi mo na ako kailangan pasalamatan, taon-taon na natin dalawang ginagawa ito."

Matipid akong ngumiti, dahil totoo ang sinasabi niya. Sa loob ng tatlong taon, she always volunteered to help me for this special occasion at kahit paano, naging gamay na nito ang gusto kong mangyari kaya it was easy for the two of us to finalized and execute my plan.

"Paano, I'm going at may duty pa ako sa ospital." pagpaalam nito sabay ligpit ng mga gamit na nakapatong sa upuan na nasa harap niya. I checked the time on my watch at ng makita kong mag aalas singko na ng hapon, tumayo na rin ako.

"Sabay na tayo, I'm due to meet him in two hours." sabi ko dito at kinuha ang blazer na nakapatong sa likod ng upuan ko and my laptop bag.

"Oh, sorry Lex. I would love to join but you know, duty calls first."Janet said apologetically to me.

"It's okay, I'm going to invite him kaya malamang makikita niyo rin siya ni Liza."

Naabutan kong nakaupo si Mike on his usual spot. Sa harap ng pinto ng opisina ko. Alertong tumayo kaagad ito pagkakita sa amin ni Janet na lumabas ng opisina.

Mike is my head of security. I hired him during my campaign at maliban sa malakas na rekomendasyon ng isang taong nirerespeto ko, I wanted to keep him on my side for personal reasons. At hindi ako nagkamali sa pagkuha sa kanya. He proved his loyalty to me and more importantly, I trust him with my life.

"Aalis na po tayo Congressman?" tanong nito sa akin, nagpalipat lipat ang tingin sa aming dalawa ni Janet.

"Yes, Mike." sagot ko dito at saka bumaling sa lamesa ng sekratarya ko at nagsisilbi ding my personal assistant. " Tanya, give me the file of the school project and I'll take it with me. Pwede ka na ring umuwi since I won't be needing you sa pupuntahan ko." I instructed my secretary na tuwang-tuwa sa narinig nito.

I was not surprised to see my driver already waiting for us when we got out in the basement parking, pero imbes na sumakay, hinatid ko muna si Janet sa harap ng kotse nito na naka-park hindi kalayuan ng exit area.

She turned to me after she opened her car and smiled sweetly. "Can you pick me up on Friday? I would rather spend the long hours on the road with you than to drive all the way alone."

I was not surprised with her sudden request. She and I became closer these past years dahil na rin siguro sa pinagdaanan namin, and it's became normal for her to asked me to pick her up and drop her home pag pareho ang mga lakad namin. At palagi ko namang pinagbibigyan ang hiling nito.

I welcome her presence, not only hers but Liza as well. Somebody who I can talk to, somebody who can tell me stories about her.

"Sure, walang problema. If it's okay with you na sa sasakyan ka na matulog. I'm planning to leave after midnight dahil plano kong makarating ako sa lokasyon ng madaling araw pa lang."

"Okay lang sa akin. Thanks Lex, see you on Friday." lumapit ito sa akin at yumakap sabay halik sa pisngi ko bago ito tuluyang pumasok sa loob ng kotse niya.
