Kevin had stumbled across people who had taken apart in his previous life. He never thought this would happen but right in front of him were two of the most important parts in his childhood and teen years as a human. Although he knew this much, Kevin still did not fully understand the situation or the roles of the people beaming at him.

Janet's husband, Clive, showed him to a spare room.

The room was a similar style to the lounge completed by the devices decorating the walls and surfaces. There was one ornamental feature that really caught his eye. It was a snow globe on the window sill. The globe differed from the normal snowy landscape and mimicked the season of Autumn instead. There was a willow tree protruding from a layer of soil. The leaves drooped into a crystallised stream running through the tiny scene. There were two plastic figures sitting under the tree, kissing. Kevin lifted the globe and lightly shook it, he watched in awe as tiny golden brown leaves swirled around the figures then slowly floated to the ground around them. This was very cool but Kevin's strange mind did criticise the size of the leaves. Accurate measurements and scale factors were clearly not made because most of the leaves were the size of the figure. He imagined now the two people screaming at the top of their tiny lungs as large thick leaves the size of them plummeted to the ground from nowhere all at oncez he imagined them dramatically diving to dodge the things.

'aaaaaaaaaaaaagh'

'what the hell how is this even happening'

'we were kissing and now we are gonna die'

'Is this your way of telling me you're leave-ing me'

'This is not the time for leaf jokes'

Kevin was somehow touched by the two figures inside the snow globe, which I guess is actually more like a leaf globe (That should be a thing just saying.) It took him to another place, somewhere odd that seemed so close but in reality was so very far away.

"John, JOHN" The young girl said pulling his hand as they strayed from the leaf littered path down to the river bank. "Come on"

"Slow down a bit" John laughed as he was dragged down the gentle slope, but the girl disobeyed and sped up; se was clearly eager to get to the willow tree.

Soon the girl was leaning on John's chest as his arm rested around her pale neck, the were resting on the thick trunk of the willow tree. She looked up at him. Those eyes, those young sweet eyes. The same lost eyes Kevin had seen squinting to check she hadn't dropped a stitch in that scarf. Janet's eyes.

Janet's cheeks were rosy red because although winter was over it was still awfully cold. John leaned down and planted a kiss on her chapped lips. This was to be followed by so many more, but not as many as there should've been.

Kevin saw through the blurred fog of amnesia and remembered coming home that night to start on the leaf globe sitting on the shelf in front of him. Exactly as it was then, it still sparked just as many feelings.

Kevin was John.

Kevin fell back onto the bed in the corner to rack his brain for memories. One that rose to the surface almost immediately was building the train set he admired downstairs and building many of the other things around the house. John liked to invent things too, maybe he hasn't changed so much. He made lots of things in admiration of Janet.

He also remembered Clive. Clive was John's brother. He was in the same year as Janet in school and became friends with her first. John was a couple of years older, eventually John and Janet realised their love for each other. It must've been some point after this he got bitten. Clive must've replaced John's love after he was gone.
