Chapter 6

Emma POV

I looked at Riker. He looked kind of sweaty and red and weird.

"Riker, that was before what?" I asked again.

"I... I... Emma I have feelings for you!"

"WHAT!?"

I swear, I almost fell off his front steps.

"I... I do..." Riker said, looking down.

"Why!?"

"I don't know. You're really pretty though."

"Riker, if this is some trick so you can make out with me, I'm not buying it."

"No! It's not a trick! I swear, I like you!"

He seemed like he was telling the truth... But I was completely weirded out. I mean, me date Riker!? Gross!

"Well... Why are you telling me this?" I asked.

"Because I felt like I was going to explode without telling you. And I was hoping you felt the same way."

"You thought I'd feel the same way!? I've been hiding in Rydel's room because I'm scared of you!"

"I know, and I'm sorry!"

I got up and went back up to Rydel's room, leaving Riker on the front steps. I made sure to lock the door. That was enough craziness for the day.

Later...

Emma POV

I told Rydel everything when she got home. She was just as shocked as I was.

"I mean, I don't know if he was even telling the truth. He said he wasn't lying, but I don't know if I believe that," I said.

"Well... I mean... Maybe he was... And you said he wasn't wearing all black?"

"Yeah, it was weird."

"That is weird... I don't know. Maybe he does like you."

"Well what am I supposed to do!?"

"Do you like him back?"

"Rydel, are you nuts!?"

"I'm guessing that's a no, then."

"Yeah. Definitely not!"

"Alright, well... Let's just see where these next few days take us."

"Ok..."

A few days later...

Emma POV

Riker had gone back to being his usual self. He dressed in all black, and had girls come over so he could make out with them. I really wasn't surprised.

"Rydel!" Rocky yelled.

"What?"

"I need you to come up here and see this!"

Rydel grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs.

"Rocky, if it's what it was last time, Emma knows, so..."

"Yeah, it is."

Rocky led us into his and Riker's room. Rocky had laid out empty beer bottles on Riker's bed.

"These were under his bed," said Rocky.

"Again!?"

"Yeah. And I think it's time to tell mom."
