The next day...

Emma POV

Riker kept hanging around me all day. I could tell he was hinting that he wanted to talk about last night. But I didn't want to. I stayed glued to Rydel all day. And when I couldn't, I stayed near Rocky, Ryland or Ross.

Riker finally caught me when I came out of the bathroom. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his bedroom.

"Riker-"

"We need to talk!"

"Leave the door open."

"Why?"

I just looked at Riker.

"You're scared of me... Right..."

Riker opened the door and sat down next to me on Rocky's bed.

"So?" Riker asked.

"So, what? You're the one that wanted to talk."

"Ok... Well how'd you think our date went last night?"

"I think it was a disaster."

"Oh..."

"Riker, if you really want this to work, we can't move that fast. I mean, a date in the woods, at night, and a kiss? I think that's a little too crazy for me."

"But what can I do so you're not scared of me?"

"You can build my trust. I don't want to go on a date where we'll be alone. Especially in the woods at night!"

"Can I have a second chance?"

"I don't know, Riker..."

"Please!? Emma, please!"

"Can I have time to think about it?"

"Fine. How long?"

"I'll tell you by tonight. How's that?"

"Amazing."

"Ok."

"Wait. One more thing... Um... How's your dad?"

"Oh... He's ok. But his car isn't. My parents are kind of tight on money, so it'll be hard to get another one. But I mean it doesn't really matter. I'm just glad that he's ok."

"I'm glad too..."

Later...

Emma POV

"Did you make up your mind yet?" Rydel asked me.

"No. But he's trying to influence my decision!"

"How?"

"Rydel, he keeps asking if I need stuff, and bringing me things, and he's being nice. It's just really weird."

"It's almost how he used to act before..."

"He was nice?"

"Yeah. He was like my other brothers. I think you're slowly changing him back."

"Me!? What are you talking about?"

"Em, I've seen a huge improvement in him since you got here. It's obvious he likes you, and you're changing him back because he's in love!"

"So if I don't go out with him, you're going to blame me for not bringing your old brother back?"

"No... It's your decision. But I would love to see my old brother again."

I wanted to scream. I just wasn't sure dating Riker was a good decision.
